Match 1
Killian Dain w/ Eric Young vs Danny Burch
(referee: Drake Wuertz)
Result: Killian Dain wins via pinfall after an Ulster Plantation
Time: 2:51
Match Thoughts
It was short, but I liked it. Danny Burch is easy to pull for and he looks good in the ring, but this was, of course, Killian Dain’s match. Dain showed strength and an impressive running dropkick.
Video
A promo for Velveteen Dream/Patrick Clark, apparently coming soon.
Match 2
Heavy Machinery vs Ricardo Watts & Hector Kunsman
(referee: Tom Castor)
Result: Otis Dozovic pins Ricardo Watts after a tandem forward-falling powerslam with Tucker Knight
Time: 1:41
Match Thoughts
Pretty much literally a squash. Watts and Kunsman combined probably didn’t weigh as much as either Dozovic or Knight by themselves. The finish was fun though.
Ring Area
Heavy Machinery gets on the mic and says they like to have a good time. Tucker Knight is well spoken, and Otis Dozovic is a goofball. Knight quickly gets to the point, saying that he and Dozovic want the Authors of Pain.
Backstage
Bobby Roode discusses something with Kona Reeves.
Backstage
Kayla Braxton welcomes DIY. Ciampa and Gargano welcome Heavy Machinery’s challenge towards the Authors of Pain, but the line for a title shot starts behind DIY.
Match 3
Kona Reeves vs Hideo Itami
(referee: Eddie Orengo)
Result: Hideo Itami wins via pinfall after a GTS
Time: 2:09
Match Thoughts
A pretty good, short match. Reeves attacked Itami before the bell, putting Reeves on the offensive for the first part of the match. When Reeves started to let up on his attack though, Itami responded with a slap to the face. Itami took over in dominating fashion after that. This was good for building up Itami, and it worked a little for Reeves as well.
Video
Clips of Drew McIntyre’s return to the WWE and his first matches as a member of the NXT roster.
Video
A special look at Roderick Strong, part two. He talks about his fiancée and his role as a father. He also talks about coming up through the indies, his time in ROH, and making it to NXT.
Backstage
William Regal wants to discuss Bobby Roode’s next opponent for the NXT Title. Roode thinks that Itami needs to earn a title shot, and Regal agrees. Regal sets a number one contender match between Hideo Itami and Roderick Strong for next week. Strong then walks into Regal’s office, and Roode doesn’t look too impressed.
Match 4
NXT Women’s Title Number One Contender Battle Royal
Lacey Evans vs Billie Kay vs Peyton Royce vs Nikki Cross vs Aliyah vs Victoria Gonzalez vs Rachel Evers vs Candice vs Sarah Bridges vs Bianca Blair vs Sonya Deville vs Kimberly Frankele vs Liv Morgan vs Ruby Riot vs Ember Moon
(referee: Darryl Sharma, Eddie Orengo, Tom Castor, Drake Wuertz)
Result: The match ends in a No Contest when Asuka interferes and attacks the remaining competitors
Time: 11:14 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
This was a pretty entertaining battle royal that ended in an odd fashion. Even though battle royals are generally considered to be no DQ, the match was stopped when Asuka ran to the ring and attacked the remaining competitors. Despite an odd call by the refs, I like the result of the match. It’s going to make things interesting at Takeover.
Ring Area
After the match, William Regal comes out to the stage and announces that Asuka will defend her title at Takeover: Chicago against the three women that remained in the match when she attacked.
Show Impressions
This was a pretty good show. None of the matches were spectacular, but they were entertaining enough. I also liked the Roderick Strong video piece again, and I like the way the show ended with the shenanigans in the battle royal.
Match of the Night
Battle Royal
The other matches on the show were pretty much squashes, and though they were fine, I think the battle royal was the most interesting match.
