Intro Video
“Resistance” by Powerflo
Ring Area
Undisputed Era heads to the ring. Adam Cole says EC3 was stupid to come to NXT. The Undisputed Era is the center of the NXT universe, and in 2019, the Undisputed Era will be draped in gold.
Match 1
Bobby Fish w/ Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly (NXT Tag Champs), Adam Cole vs EC3
(referee: DA Brewer)
Result: EC3 wins via pinfall with an inside cradle
Time: 5:31
Match Thoughts
This was pretty good. Fish started strong, but EC3 hit a powerbomb early in the match that sent Fish reeling. EC3 would dominate for a while, but Fish started going after EC3’s knee. Fish’s attack hobbled EC3. The finish came suddenly, though it wasn’t a huge surprise.
Ring Area
After the match, the Undisputed Era attacks EC3. After a few seconds, Heavy Machinery runs to the ring and manages to fight Undisputed Era out of the ring. Kyle O’Reilly is singled out and hit with big moves from EC3 and Otis Dozovic.
Outside the Venue
Earlier today, Dakota Kai and Io Shirai said they won’t put up with Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke anymore. Kai and Shirai want Shafir and Duke in a tag match next week.
Match 2
The Mighty vs Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan
(referee: Eddie Orengo)
Result: Danny Burch pins Shane Thorne after an assisted high-angle DDT
Time: 5:05
Match Thoughts
Very good match. This was kind of like a structured brawl with some really brutal moves near the end. This was a lot of fun and I’d love to see more of this (though as of this writing, it’s been revealed that Nick Miller asked for his release from the company).
Selfie Promo
Johnny Gargano says he did nothing wrong. The ends justify the means. Aleister Black was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Gargano will make sure this story ends in the right way though, and he will close the book on Aleister Black.
Video
A promo for Dijakovic. He’ll be here next week.
Backstage
Cathy Kelley welcomes Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke. Baszler doesn’t care who ner next contender is. Whoever it is will be beaten like all the rest. Duke and Shafir laugh when Kelley mentions the challenge issued by Dakota Kai and Io Shirai.
Match 3
Mia Yim vs Reina Gonzalez
(referee: Tom Castor; stipulation: the winner qualifies for a fatal four way women’s title number one contender match taking place in two weeks)
Result: Miz Yim wins via pinfall after Eat Defeat
Time: 3:27
Match Thoughts
Good match. Gonzalez had a large power advantage, and that forced Yim to try to avoid Gonzalez while hitting some strikes. Eventually, Yim did just that.
Backstage
Ricochet warms up for his upcoming title defense.
Backstage
Aleister Black finds it interesting that everything everyone does is based on how they feel. Black doesn’t feel anything in regards to Johnny Gargano, he just knows that he must annihilate him.
Match 4
NXT North American Title Match
Ricochet (NA Champ) vs Tyler Breeze
(referee: Drake Wuertz)
Result: Ricochet wins via pinfall with a fireman’s carry into a cross-legged Michinoku driver
Time: 9:47
Match Thoughts
Great match. It was as fun as you’d expect. It’s good to see Breeze get some respect from the crowd and have a decently long and competitive match.
Show Impressions
This was a good show. The matches were all entertaining, and I really enjoyed the main event.
Match of the Night
