Match 1
Ariya Daivari vs Noam Dar
(referee: Ryan Tran; guest commentary: Tony Nese)
Result: Ariya Daivari wins via pinfall after a hamerlock lariat
Time: 8:43
Match Thoughts
Good match. Daivari’s focus was sometimes split between his opponent and Tony Nese at ringside, and that allowed Noam Dar to get a good amount of offense in this match. This was a good, back and forth battle, and though the finish wasn’t surprising considering Daivari has a title match coming up soon, it was still fun to watch.
Ring Area
After the match, Tony Nese enters the ring and approaches him from behind. Daivari is surprised when he turns around, but Nese doesn’t attack. Instead, Nese tells Daivari that he could’ve attacked him, but he didn’t. Nese smiles as he leaves, and Daivari is pissed.
Backstage
Oney Lorcan says he might have lost his first opportunity to earn a title match, but he won’t lose next time.
Match 2
The Singh Brothers vs David Kauffman & Kevin Lee
(referee: Mike Chioda)
Result: Samir Singh pins Kevin Lee after an assisted diving elbow drop
Time: 1:44
Match Thoughts
The Singh Brothers had their way in this match. It was short, but I liked it as a step forward for Samir and Sunil.
Ring Area
After the match, the Singh brothers says they lost last week because they were distracted. They want a rematch with the Lucha House Party.
Backstage
Maria Kanellis thanks Drake Maverick for barring Brian Kendrick from ringside. Drake is happy to hear her say that becuase he has some news for her. Maria is also barred from ringside tonight. Neither Maria nor Mike are happy about that.
Backstage
Sarah Schreiber welcomes Jack Gallagher and asks him what’s at stake in his fatal four way match next week. Gallagher is excited about the match, and he’s excited to represent 205 Live in his home country. Humberto Carrillo walks up. Carrillo is looking forward to beating Gallagher in London. Gallagher shakes Carrillo’s hand and tells him, “you can try.”
Match 3
No DQ Match
Akira Tozawa vs Mike Kanellis
(referee: Danilo Anfibio; stipulation: The Brian Kendrick and Maria Kanellis are both barred from ringside.)
Result: Akira Tozawa wins via pinfall after a diving senton with chairs placed on top of Kanellis
Time: 16:04
Match Thoughts
Very good match. I feel like these kind of anything goes type of matches have become a specialty for Tozawa. There’s always some good, innovative violence in these matches, and beyond that, there’s just a good wrestling match. Tozawa and Kanellis did some damage to each other and themselves. I really enjoyed this match, and I’ve enjoyed their feud up to this point.
Ring Area
After the match, Maria Kanellis heads to the ring to check on her husband. The Brian Kenrick also heads to the ring to check on his friend.
Show Impressions
A good show all around. Tozawa always has good feud ending matches, and this was no exception. I’d really like to see him get another run with the Cruiserweight Title at some point. This feud has also helped Mike Kanellis. Even though Mike didn’t always win, he’s in a much better spot than he was a few months ago.
I also like the development for Daivari and Nese. It’s not much, but it’s all that;s really needed for two guys who do their best work in the ring rather than on the mic.
Match of the Night
Akira Tozawa vs Mike Kanellis
Lots of fun.
