Ring Area
Seth Rollins heads to the ring, and he’s carrying a chair. Rollins says no one has treated Brock Lesnar like he did at Super ShowDown when he beat on Lesnar with a chair. Baron Corbin interrupts Rollins as he comes out to the stage.

Corbin gets the crowd to boo him, then he says he’s going to beat Rollins at Stomping Grounds. Rollins asks Corbin how well he did at Super ShowDown. Corbin says he lost at Super ShowDown because of the referee. To make sure there are no mistakes at Stomping Grounds, Corbin says he has been allowed to pick the special guest referee for his and Rollins’ title match. Rollins wonders who Corbin is going to pick to ref the match since Corbin has no friends. Sami Zayn comes out to the stage.

Zayn says he cares about Rollins and his well-being. Rollins’ endless cycle of violence with Brock Lesnar is harming him, and it would be better if Baron Corbin were the Universal Champ. Rollins wants to know what’s in it for Zayn if Corbin becomes champ. Zayn says Corbin might give him a title shot if he becomes champ. Rollins wonders if Corbin will help Zayn out if Rollins heads up the ramp and slaps Zayn’s face. Kevin Owens comes out to the stage.

Owens doesn’t like how Rollins is talking to his friend Sami Zayn. Rollins tells Owens to come down to the ring and do something about it. Owens says he just might do that. Rollins accepts Owens’ challenge and walks up the ramp. Rollins stares down Corbin, Owens, and Zayn before walking past them and heading to the back.

Match Thoughts
Triple squash. This was completely unsurprising and completely dominated by Sullivan. I didn’t like it.

Backstage
R-Truth and Carmella run throught backstage area. R-Truth is being chased by No Way Jose, Cedric Alexander, Eric Young, Heath Slater, EC3, Drake Maverick, Titus O’Neil, and Robert Roode. The mob catches up to R-Truth at an elevator, but there is no referee to officiate a 24/7 Title match. R-Truth and Carmella get on the elevator with some of the guys who were chasing them. The elevator leaves just before the referee shows up.

A security camera in the elevator shows us that the elevator has become stuck.

Backstage
Lacey Evans talks to herself in a mirror and puts on perfume.

Backstage
Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch talk to each other while holding their championship title belts.

Ring Area
Michael Cole officiates an interview with both Lacey Evans and Becky Lynch (who are both backstage). Becky wonders why Lacey hasn’t beaten her for the title since Lacey is bigger than her. Becky also says she’s not mad about Lacey’s position in the women’s division, it’s the fact that Lacey cost her the SmackDown Title.

Lacey says Becky is scared. She also says she’s going to take the RAW Title. Becky says the only things Lacey will take are a slap to the head and another loss.

Backstage
Alexa Bliss tells Nikki Cross that Bayley is a master manipulator. Alexa says that Bayley treated her terribly when they were both coming up in WWE. Nikki says she understands what it’s like to be on the outside looking in.

Ring Area
The Miz heads to the ring for Miz TV. Miz introduces Samoa Joe who heads to the ring.

Miz states that Rey was respectful and did the right thing by relinquishing the US Title to Joe since Rey had a shoulder injury and acknowledged that Joe’s shoulder weren’t pinned, yet Joe still attacked Rey. Joe responds with, “yeah, so?” Miz then tells Joe that as a family man, messing with someone’s family is a line you do not cross. Joe says there is no such thing as going too far. Joe also wonders if he should be talking about his family. Joe and Miz both stand up, but Braun Strowman interrupts and heads to the ring.

Strowman says that if Joe is looking for a challenger, maybe he should get Strowman’s hands.

Bobby Lashley heads to the ring next. Lashley says he and Joe have history, and if anyone should get a title match, it should be Lashley.

Ricochet comes out to the stage. He says that after his two victories over Cesaro, he wants to win his first title on the main roster.

Cesaro joins Ricochet on the stage. Cesaro looks like he’s about to say something, but Cesaro just punches Ricochet instead. A brawl breaks out involving everyone. After a few seconds, Ricochet, Miz, and Strowman stand in the ring while the other three are forced out onto the floor.

Result: Ricochet pins Cesaro after a 630 senton
Time: 10:44 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. Cesaro and Ricochet definitely had the best bits in the match. There was also an extra long Cesaro Spin that he did to The Miz. That was fun.

Backstage
Charly Caruso asks Baron Corbin if he’s decided on a referee for his match. He hasn’t. Sami Zayn walks up. He wants to have a chat with Corbin. We don’t get to hear their chat.

Show/Hide Results

Result: Lacey Evans pins Bayley after the Woman’s Right
Time: 7:36 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
Good match. I was a little surprised that Bayley was going to start and end the match with Becky taking a lot of damage in the middle, but with the way the match ended it made sense. I’m not thrilled with the finish, but the match was fine overall.

Backstage
Sami Zayn talks to Shane McMahon about possibly refereeing tonight’s main event between Owens and Rollins. Maybe he could even be a second outside referee. Shane has an idea. Maybe Zayn could be a second outside referee. Zayn thinks that’s genius.

Ring Area
In the ring, Paul Heyman is disturbed by the level of hostility and animosity between Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins. He talks about how Rollins bragged about beating Lesnar with a chair, and he calls Rollins a “stupid feckless thug.” By preventing Lesnar from cashing in, Rollins insured that Lesnar would remain Mr. Money in the Bank. Now, Heyman and Lesnar will not announce when Lesnar will cash in. Now, it’s going to be a surprise.

Backstage
R-Truth and everyone else are still stuck in the elevator. EC3 suggests that they might need to start eating each other if they’re stuck much longer.

Ring Area
The IIconics head to the ring. They say that as the longest reigning women’s tag champs, they have scoured the world for the best competition. They’ve found two women (who are in the ring), but they will never compare to The IIconics.

(referee: Darrick Moore)

Result: Billie Kay pins Lisa Lace after a wheelbarrow (Kay) and running knee strike (Royce)

Match Thoughts
As expected, this was a squash. I like The IIconics’ finisher though.

Video
Clips of Shane McMahon beating Roman Reigns at Super ShowDown with the help of Drew McIntyre.

Video
From Super ShowDown, Byron Saxton asked Roman Reigns about his loss to Shane. Reigns is pissed, and he says he’s going to bounce back by beating Drew McIntyre at Stomping Grounds.

Backstage
R-Truth and company are still in the elevator.

Ring Area
Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon head to the ring. Shane talks about holding a victory over Roman Reigns. He says that Reigns shouldn’t be embarrassed. He gave his best, but his best wasn’t enough to beat the best in the world. Shane also compliments Drew McIntyre for helping him prepare to beat Reigns.

McIntyre says he’s going to hurt and humiliate Reigns at Stomping Grounds. McIntyre owes Reigns a beating. Shane likes McIntyre’s intensity, but he wants some champagne right now. Shane drinks out of the Best in the World trophy as McIntyre drinks straight from the bottle.

Shane then introduces The Revival who head to the ring. Shane tells The Revival that they are invited to his celebration, but only if they bring some tag team gold with them.

Backstage
Charly Caruso asks Hawkins and Ryder if they’re time as champs

(referee: Dan Engler)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Scott Dawson pins Zack Ryder after a Samoan Splash from Jey Uso
Time: 4:46 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
Other than being too short, this was a fun match. I kind of saw the finish coming from a long way off, but it was still fun getting to it.

Backstage
Charly Caruso asks Seth Rollins how much of a challenge Sami Zayn will be at ringside tonight. Rollins says he’s ready for anything.

Backstage
R-Truth and friends help Drake Maverick regain some confidence when he starts to doubt himself. Finally, the elevator opens. Everyone attacks R-Truth, but Truth and Carmella escape in the confusion.

Video
In this week’s episode of Firefly Fun House, Mercy tries to eat Rambling Rabbit again. Bray decides to let Rambling Rabbit speak to everyone instead. RR says it’s not okay to eat your friends no matter how hungry you are. He also says he might expose what’s really been going on in the Fun House. At that, Bray grabs RR by the face and throws him to the ground. Bray Wyatt then smashes Rambling Rabbit with a giant clown hammer. Bray tastes the fluids that leak out of RR’s body. It tastes great.

Match 6
Seth Rollins (Universal Champ) vs Kevin Owens
(referee: John Cone; outside referee: Sami Zayn)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kevin Owens wins via DQ when Seth Rollins puts his hands on Sami Zayn
Time: 8:30 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
This was a good match, but there were a lot of shenanigans going on throughout the whole thing. I suppose that was to be expected considering how the match was set up. Everyone did a really good job. I liked it.

Ring Area
After the match, Rollins and Zayn scuffle. Zayn gets out of the ring when Baron Corbin enters the ring and attacks Rollins. Corbin goes and grabs a chair, but Rollins takes it from him. Corbin escapes up the ramp. Sami Zayn takes a chair beating from Rollins.

Show Impressions
For RAW, this was fine. The wrestling once again took a backseat to the talking and other story-focused stuff, but it was fine. Mostly. The Shane McMahon segment was a low point. It was entirely self-indulgent and didn’t do anything for me. the Firefly Fun House was a high point, but they’ve been the high point of most RAWs lately.

Match of the Night
Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens
Despite the shenanigans, this was fun.
