Ring Area
The Miz heads to the ring for Miz TV. Miz is hosting his show under protest, saying that he is being forced to read from a script tonight. Miz reads from a card as he introduces his guests, Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon. When he gets to “the best in the world” for Shane, he instead says “the pest of the world.”

Shane McMahon, Drew McIntyre, and Elias head to the ring. Shane says he invited Elias to join them because all great talk show hosts have a musical act. Elias plays his guitar. After the guitar solo, Shane reminds everyone that he beat Roman Reigns at Super ShowDown. The Miz says all of Shane’s wins are tainted. Shane wants Miz to do his job and start his interview. Instead, Miz shows an interview of Roman Reigns from Super ShowDown. Reigns said he’s going to beat McIntyre at Stomping Grounds.

McIntyre says he’s going to kick Roman Reigns and beat him at Stomping Grounds. Miz thinks McIntyre’s potential is being wasted at Shane McMahon’s side. Shane thinks Miz has some resentment, but he understands. After all, Miz hasn’t yet beaten Shane in a match. Miz says Shane is a talentless hack who was just lucky enough to be born into the McMahon Family. Shane says Miz is the son of a baked potato.

Miz stands up, so McIntyre gets in Miz’s face. Shane wonders if Miz wants another shot at the best in the world. Miz wants a match, but Shane says he’ll have to beat Elias first. Then he’ll have to beat Drew McIntyre. After those two victories, then Shane will fight Miz.

This was quite short and just a way to get Miz a little tired before facing Drew McIntyre.

Match Thoughts
This was okay. McIntyre dominated the match and Miz slipped off the ropes during his short-lived comeback. But it was fine.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville interrupt Ember Moon while she’s playing games on her Nintendo Switch. Moon doesn’t like how Rose and Deville treated Carmella last week. Deville gets in Moon’s face, but Rose holds her back.

Ring Area
In the ring, Daniel Bryan announces that he and Rowan are putting their titles on the line tonight against the Yolo County tag champs, AJ Kirsh and Dave Dutra, in a title unification match. As he continues, he is interrupted by Heavy Machinery as they head to the ring.

Otis calls Bryan and Rowan “elitist cowards.” Tucker Knight says he and Otis are blue collar. He also says that they’d beat Bryan and Rowan if they were given a title match. Bryan says Heavy Machinery hasn’t done anything to earn a title match. Bryan suggests that Otis and Tucker face the champions of Yolo County instead. Heavy Machinery accepts the challenge.

Match Thoughts
A squash. Literally.

Backstage
R-Truth tells Carmella that the 7/11 Championship is ruining his life. Suddenly, they both hear a noise. Carmella tells R-Truth to hide in a big rolling gear box. He does, but he ends up getting locked inside. Carmella has to go have a match, so she tells Truth she’ll be right back. Then she leaves.

Jinder Mahal walks by and hears R-Truth yelling from inside the box. Mahal pretends to be Carmella as he tries to find a way to free Truth. Mahal leaves to find a crowbar or something.

Match 5
Sonya Deville w/ Mandy Rose vs Carmella
(referee: Jason Ayers)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Sonya Deville wins via pinfall after a knee strike (and a distraction from Mandy Rose)
Time: 3:55

Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. I enjoyed how aggressive Carmella was. She wanted to fight Sonya, but Sonya can fight back. Mandy Rose proved to be the deciding factor when she got involved multiple times throughout the match.

Backstage
Alexa Bliss asks Nikki Cross if she’s okay. Nikki’s fine. Alexa then tells Nikki that Bayley liked some “hurtful” comments posted on social media. Alexa would show Nikki, but Alexa has blocked Bayley. Alexa tells Nikki that she can get payback tonight in a match against Bayley.

Ring Area
New Day heads to the ring, and they are celebrating the return of Big E. Big E says if he had a title reign for every return he’s had, then he’d be Charlotte Flair.

Woods and Kingston talk about their six man tag match tonight against Zayn, Owens, and Ziggler. Kofi says he’s already beaten all three of them. Kofi also talks about his upcoming cage match with Ziggler, saying that there will be no more sneak attacks from Ziggler.

Dolph Ziggler comes out to the stage. Ziggler says he put Kofi on a pedestal, but Kofi betrayed him. Kofi also betrayed everyone who believed in him, and he betrayed himself. There’s only one reason Kofi is still champion: the help from Xavier Woods during their title match at Super ShowDown. At Stomping Grounds, there will be no one to help Kofi. Kofi reminds Ziggler that Woods was only retaliating for a kick Ziggler hit on Woods earlier.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens come out to the stage. Zayn says people would be going nuts if Kofi had lost like Ziggler at Super ShowDown, but they don’t care about Ziggler. Zayn says the crowd has no morals, they just care about who they like and who they don’t like. Zayn cares about righting wrongs. He and Owens also enjoy any opportunity to beat up the New Day. Big E enjoyed watching Rollins wear out Zayn with a steel chair on RAW.

Big E says Kofi’s title run is about him showing everyone he’s the best at what he does. Kofi says he will forever remain the WWE Champ.

Backstage
Kayla Braxton asks Bayley if there’s any truth to Alexa’s claim about Bayley making insulting social media posts towards Nikki Cross. Bayley dismisses the claim, but she says if Nikki wants to get mixed up in Alexa’s lies, then she’s going to get beat.

Backstage
Aleister Black is still waiting for someone to pick a fight with him. Black is offering resolution. Pick a fight with him, and Black will end it. Black has the door to his room opened, then he yells out for someone, anyone, to pick a fight with him.

Match 6
Bayley (SD Women’s Champ) vs Nikki Cross w/ Alexa Bliss
(referee: Danilo Anfibio)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Bayley wins via pinfall after a diving elbow drop
Time: 5:32

Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. Most of it happened during a commercial break, and most of it consisted of Nikki Cross beating up Bayley. That allowed Bayley to hit a few big moves at the end while staring at Alexa Bliss at ringside.

Backstage
Jinder Mahal has a referee with him (the same referee who was presumably still in the ring after the previous match, unless he ran really, really fast), but he’s lost the rolling box that R-Truth was in. Some crew members tell Mahal that the box has already been loaded and is headed to Los Angeles for RAW next week. Mahal grabs the ref and says they’re going to LA.

We can hear R-Truth yelling as a box is taken away. Carmella walks by searching for R-Truth.

Video
The latest episode of Firefly Fun House (where Bray Wyatt smashes Rambling Rabbit with a hammer) is aired again.

Backstage
Kayla Braxton welcomes Apollo Crews. Crews says he isn’t an afterthought. Zelina Vega walks up and tells Crews that he shouldn’t provoke Andrade. Otherwise, he’ll get more of wht Andrade gave him last week.

Vega walks away, and we see Chad Gable making notes while looking at Crews.

Match 7
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn & Dolph Ziggler vs Xavier Woods & Big E & Kofi Kingston (WWE Champ)
(referee: Jason Ayers)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kofi Kingston pins Sami Zayn after Trouble in Paradise
Time: 12:00 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
Good match. There was a bit of a back and forth in the match, though Owens, Zayn, and Ziggler seemed to isolate Woods for a good part of the match. Big E had a nice segment towards the end, and the breakdown before the finish was fun. It was kind of standard 6-man stuff, but I enjoyed it.

Show Impressions
This was a fine show. Nothing really stood out as extraordinary, but it was fine.

Match of the Night
Owens & Zayn & Ziggler vs New Day
It was fun.
