Match 1
Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs Akira Tozawa w/ The Brian Kendrick
(referee: Darryl Sharma)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Akira Tozawa wins via pinfall after a diving senton (Gallagher got his foot on the rope, but Kendrick slapped the rope which knocked Gallagher’s foot off)
Time: 8:45

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Tozawa took a nasty drop onto the top of the ring post fairly early in the match that apparently cut his forehead. The match stopped down for a minute while the referee took care of the cut, but that moment added some drama to an already good match. As the match went on, Gallagher and Tozawa were going at each other hard. The finish had a bit of controversy, and I like that it opens this up to another match and some possible action from Brian Kendrick as the story develops.

Backstage
Oney Lorcan says Drew Gulak took the easy road at SummerSlam, and Lorcan should be champ right now. Tonight, Lorcan plans to take the title.

Video
Earlier today, Humberto Carrillo found Gran Metalik after he was attacked in a hallway. Dorado and Kalisto aren’t sure what to think, but Drake Maverick calms them all down.

Match 2
Humberto Carrillo & Kalisto & Lince Dorado vs Ariya Daivari & The Singh Brothers
(referee: Drake Wuertz)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Lince Dorado pins Sunil Singh after a shooting star press
Time: 7:32

Match Thoughts
Good match. Lince Dorado didn’t want to team with Carrillo, but Kalisto just wanted to get along and win the match. Dorado refused to tag Carrillo into the match. The referee was a stickler for the rules tonight, and that led to some interesting confusion and dissension when Carrillo tried to make a blind tag on Dorado that nobody saw. The action in the match was good throughout. It seemed like Daivari and the Singhs might win, but Daivari decided to take a walk when things got tough. That led to an interesting finish that furthered the tension betwee Carrillo and Dorado.

Backstage
Drew Gulak says change is inevitable. Gulak wanted a new challenger when he became champ, but instead he’s been faced with ghosts from his past who act like nothing has changed.

Selfie Promo
Tony Nese says he needs to start from scratch and work his way back to the top.

Match 3
Cruiserweight Title Match
Oney Lorcan vs Drew Gulak (Cruiserweight Champ)
(referee: Darryl Sharma)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Drew Gulak wins via KO with the GuLock
Time: 15:30

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Lorcan looked great, and he took the fight to the champ. Gulak was able to slow Lorcan down at times, but Lorcan kept pushing forward the entire time. I like that 205 Live seems to give people rematches on this show after having a title match on a PPV kickoff show. The matches taking place on 205 Live are usually better. I think this one was.

Show Impressions
This was a very good show. They managed to pack in a lot of good wrestling while creating a new story, developing another story, and possibly ending a third story. I loved it.

Match of the Night
Oney Lorcan vs Drew Gulak
It’s a shame for Lorcan that Gulak is on such a great roll, but it’s great to watch Gulak dominate the division.
