Show/Hide Match Previews

Match 1
“One Take” Ryan Pyles vs 10 w/ Brodie Lee
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: 10 wins via pinfall after a spinebuster
Time: 2:30

Match Thoughts
Squash. This was Preston Vance’s first match as 10 since joining Dark Order, and it was more about showing Brodie Lee’s control over the creepers than any of the action in the ring. 10 did look powerful though.

Match 2
“The Captain” Shawn Dean vs Sammy Guevara
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Sammy Guevara wins via pinfall after a burning GTS
Time: 6:19

Match Thoughts
Good match. Once again Sammy Guevara’s arrogance and showboating allowed his opponent to gain repeated advantages throughout the match. That allowed Sammy fight back and look even better by coming back from a few near falls.

Match 3
“Superbad” Kip Sabian w/ Penelope Ford vs Colt Cabana
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kip Sabian wins via pinfall after a low blow (and a distraction from Penelope Ford)
Time: 10:26

Match Thoughts
This was a lot of fun. Colt Cabana outclassed and embarrassed Sabian throughout most of the match, but Sabian had Penelope Ford in his corner. Ford match the match more even than it should have been.

Show Impressions
This was a fine show. The main event definitely made the show, but the other two matches were good for what they were.

Match of the Night
Kip Sabian vs Colt Cabana
Lots of fun. Cabana’s role so far in AEW seems to be making other people look really good, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens once live shows resume.
