The first of two nights to end the NJPW year at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo serves as a nice preview of things to come at Wrestle Kingdom in a few short weeks.
The first IWGP US Heavyweight Champ is crowned in the finale of a highly entertaining tournament, Billy Gunn challenges Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP IC Title, The Young Bucks put their Jr. Heavyweight Tag Titles on the line against Roppongi Vice once again, and more on the second of two nights for NJPW in the USA.
Day 1 of the G1 Special in USA shows started the IWGP US Title tournament in a great way. This show had some great first round matches as well as a really good IWGP Heavyweight Title match between Okada and Cody!
Cody gets a one-on-one shot at Christopher Daniels’ ROH World Title in the main event of a very good PPV from ROH.
KUSHIDA battles Marty Scurll for the TV Title, Chuck Taylor makes his ROH debut, and Search and Destroy has had about enough of The Rebellion on a great episode of ROH TV!
There were a lot of big expectations going in to many of the matches at Dominion, and I think they were met and in some cases exceeded. This was a great show top to bottom.
Two nights before the big event in Osaka, the Road to Dominion had a lot of fun tag matches and managed to build some solid interest in all of the upcoming title matches.
The Best of the Super Jr. 24 tournament ends with great final match a bunch of fun tag matches in the undercard.
It wasn’t quite as exciting as the finale of Block A, but the last night of B Block matches still provided some surprising and entertaining matches and moments.
Block A of the tournament ends with four very good matches full of emotion and action.
This was one of the standout nights featuring a standout match between KUSHIDA and Ryusuke Taguchi.
Block A evens out the top of the bracket with some good matches highlighted by Liger vs Dragon Lee and Hiromu Takahashi vs Marty Scurll.
The race to the top of Block B gets tighter as the tournament creeps towards the finish. Was KUSHIDA able to stay in the running, or did Kanemaru effectively knock him out of this year’s tournament?
Dragon Lee and Will Ospreay battle to see who will take the lead in Block A during another fine night of tournament matches.
Block B reaches the halfway point of the tournament with some wrestlers looking to increase their lead and others looking to just stay competitive.

The third round of Block B matches contained a nice variety of entertaining matchups, including a great main event featuring two men looking to score their first victory in the tournament, KUSHIDA and BUSHI!
The tournament remains fairly even as Block A continues with another round of matches, highlighted by Ricochet taking on the current IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champ Hiromu Takahashi.
Night three of the 2017 Best of the Super Jr. tournament wasn’t as exciting as the first two nights, but it still delivered a nice variety of entertaining matches.
