Tonight, can Kassius Ohno overcome Aleister Black?

Intro Video

Match 1
Peyton Royce w/ Billie Kay vs Ember Moon
(referee: Drake Wuertz)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Ember Moon wins via pinfall after an Eclipse
Time: 6:17 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
Good match. This was quite competitive and both women worked very well together. There were some good sequences and a few good near falls from both of them. This is one of Royce’s best matches and is probably one of Moon’s better ones as well. A good first match for Ember Moon’s return to action.

Backstage
Hideo Itami apologizes to Kassius Ohno for the way he’s acted lately. Ohno accepts his apology and says he knows how he feels. When you face a setback you just have to keep working. That’s what Ohno plans to do tonight.

Match 2
Ealy Brothers vs Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe
(referee: Darryl Sharma)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Eric Young pins Uriel Ealy after a combination backrop suplex and diving neckbreaker
Time: 3:21

Match Thoughts
This was okay. It was kind of a one-sided exhibition for SAnitY, but it was entertaining enough.

Video
A video package promo for Sonya Deville.

Match 3
Rachel Evers vs Sonya Deville
(referee: Tom Castor)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Sonya Deville wins via submission with a seated double wristlock
Time: 2:40

Match Thoughts
This was pretty much a squash. Deville did a little too much standing around and looking mean rather than putting her supposed MMA skills to work, but it’s kind of difficult to make too many judgments based on a match like this.

Video
Earlier today at Full Sail University, Bobby Roode made some comments about Roderick Strong’s wife and kid as the Strong family walked by. Roderick didn’t like that, so a short brawl broke out before the two men were separated.

Match 4
Kassius Ohno vs Aleister Black
(referee: Eddie Orengo)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Aleister Black wins via pinfall after a Black Mass kick
Time: 13:24 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
A very good match. There were lots and lots of strikes in this match (mostly kicks). I think this one built nicely from a slower pace to a gradual increase into a moderate pace. It never got fast, but it didn’t need to. This match helped make Aleister Black interesting, and even though I was pulling for a different outcome, I think it will work in the context of where these guys’ stories seem to be heading.

Show Impressions
This was a good show. Two very entertaining matches and two squashes that weren’t bad.

Match of the Night
Kassius Ohno vs Aleister Black
I’m still not 100% interested in what they’re doing with Black, but this was a good match regardless.
