Match 1
Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs Adrian Jaoude & Cezar Bononi
(referee: Drake Wuertz)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Danny Burch pins Adrian Jaoude after an assisted high-angle DDT
Time: 3:41

Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. It was short and was really just meant to welcome back the team of Burch and Lorcan, but I liked it for what it was.

Ring Area
Tommaso Ciampa heads to the ring. Ciampa says his new music is a personal message for the NXT Universe. It means “shut up.” He’s heard all the accusations of people claiming he attacked Aleister Black, but Ciampa lives in a world based on facts. The fact is, if he were to attack someone, he’ do it where everyone could see it and appreciate his work. Ciampa says he had planned to take out Black before Takeover, but someone beat him to it. He’d like to meet whoever did it so he could congratulate them on a job well done.

Regardless of whether or not Black made it to Takeover, Ciampa says he still would have won. Ciampa got the title back in the main event of Takeover, and for that the title thanks him. If anyone out there would like to be a success and a champion, follow the lead of Ciampa.

Match 2
Violet Payne vs Shayna Baszler
(referee: Tom Castor)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Shayna Baszler wins via submission with the Kirifuda Clutch
Time: 1:25

Match Thoughts
Payne had zero offense in this match. Her arm was destroyed by Baszler. It was certainly a good reminder of how terrifying Baszler can be in the ring.

Ring Area
After the match, Baszler walks away. After a few seconds Baszler returns to the ring and puts Payne back in the Kirifuda Clutch multiple times.

Selfie Promo
Heavy Machinery take a selfie when Tommaso Ciampa walks by. Ciampa reminds Knight and Dozovic that they shouldn’t talk about the champ behind his back. William Regal shows up before the conversation can get too heated. Regal would like to speak with Ciampa in his office.

Backstage
The Undisputed Era says they are too famous to hide despite what the War Raiders might say. They aren’t hiding from Hanson and Rowe. Adam Cole doesn’t care about the War Raiders, and he doesn’t care who wins in next week’s title for title match between Ricochet and Pete Dunne. Either way, Cole intends to beat the winner.

Match 3
Lars Sullivan vs Raul Mendoza
(referee: Darryl Sharma)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Lars Sullivan wins via pinfall after the Freak Accident
Time: 4:13

Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. I really liked the attack from Mendoza, but it was inevitable that he would be taken down with a few big moves.

Outside the Venue
Earlier today, Pete Dunne says his tag loss a few weeks ago was all Ricochet’s fault. But getting involved with Ricochet and the Undisputed Era has given Dunne the opportunity to challenge for the North American Title. He’ll take it.

Backstage
Cathy Kelley asks Ricochet for a response to Pete Dunne’s comments. Ricochet says he’s been in high-pressure situations for years. Dunne is just another hurdle for Ricochet to leap over.

Video Promo
The Forgotten Sons will never be forgotten again.

Backstage
Last week, Dakota Kai, Aliyah, Lacey Evans, and Deonna Purrazzo argued about something.

Backstage
William Regal thanks Kairi Sane for answering his questions. Sane leaves, and Kassius Ohno enters Regal’s office. Regal says he doesn’t need to speak to Ohno about Aleister Black’s attack. Ohno gets perturbed. He’s perturbed about being continually pushed to the back of the line. Ohno wants Regal to let him know when his “new shiny toy” gets here so Ohno can take care of him. “Bro.”

Match 4
Bianca Belair vs Nikki Cross
(referee: Jessika Carr)

Show/Hide Results

Result: The match ends in a No Contest when both women are counted out of the ring
Time: 5:18

Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. I liked it, though it did feel like a teaser to build to a bigger match later on.

Ring Area
After the match, the brawl between Cross and Belair continues outside the ring. The fight makes it over to the commentator’s table where Nikki Cross dives onto Belair and a herd of referees.

Show Impressions
Good show. It was rather light on the wrestling, but it felt like it was setting a lot of stuff up and establishing characters. That’s fine. I was entertained, though I wouldn’t have missed much if I had missed this show.

Match of the Night
Lars Sullivan vs Raul Mendoza
Even though it was entirely predictable how this would end, I liked Mendoza’s part in this match.
