Match Thoughts
Great match. Early in the match there was a lot of back and forth with some really good sequences of counters. They moved on to play to their strengths with Nese using his power and Kalisto flying. They both showed fantastic agility throughout, and the last few minutes became pretty brutal with some of the moves. If this match is any indication of the desire in this tournament, then this is going to be a whole lot of fun.

Drew Gulak vs The Brian Kendrick

Show/Hide Results

Result: Drew Gulak wins via KO with the GuLock
Time: 13:48

Match Thoughts
Great match. This was a battle of wits as much as it was a fight. Kendrick and Gulak tried to out-wrestle each other, and that led to a lot of the match taking place down on the mat. Gulak looked strong, though Kendrick broke free at times and put up a good fight. In the end, this was a bit of a heartbreaker. I really like both of these guys and would like to see both of them in a Wrestlemania match.

Show Impressions
This was a very strong show and a great start to the tournament. I’m very excited for the next few weeks.

Match of the Night
Drew Gulak vs The Brian Kendrick
It was hard to choose, but I think I was more invested in Gulak versus Kendrick.
