Match Thoughts
Good match. It took a little while to get going, and there were a couple of moments when Lorcan and Carrillo didn’t seem like they were on the same page, but the match got better as it went on. I think this was a good match for Carrillo. He hasn’t really faced anyone like Lorcan on 205 Live yet, and the stiff strikes and hard throws seemed to put Carrillo a little out of his element. This was also a good match for Lorcan considering the last few minutes.

Backstage
Mike and Maria Kanellis are upset. Mike expected to be in the tournament, but Drake Maverick is giving him a match with a local competitor tonight. Maverick explains that Mike’s win/loss record isn’t good enough to compete in the tournament. Maria says that Mike is better than the best, and he’ll show that to everyone tonight.

Ring Area
Mike and Maria Kanellis head to the ring for the match Drake Maverick has set up. In the ring are Colby Corino and a referee. After Mike poses in the ring, he attacks Corino before the opening bell. Kanellis continues to attack Corino. Referee Danilo Anfibio leaves the ring and announces that the match is a No Contest. Satisfied with his work, Mike leaves the ring with Maria.

Selfie Promo
Tony Nese says he is laser-focused in the tournament. He faces Drew Gulak in the next round. Nese says he hasn’t been able to defeat Gulak in the past, but Nese is a different person than the man who previously faced Gulak.

Backstage
Cedric Alexander responds to people saying that he can’t get the job done. We all know what drives Alexander. For the last two years. the Cruiserweight Title has been synonymous with Alexander’s name. He challenges Akira Tozawa to bring everything he has to the ring tonight so everyone can see who wants the title more.

Backstage
The Brian Kendrick gives Akira Tozawa some final advice before his match.

Match Thoughts
Great match. You could tell how much both men wanted this match ad how much they both want to go to Wrestlemania. I really wanted both men to win, so either way this turned out it was going to be a heartbreaker for me. The finish (and post-match interactions) made me sad for one man, but made me very happy for the other. The match itself was great. It had plenty of intelligent counters and sequences, it had some effective psychology, and it got very tense towards the end. I’ll definitely be watching this match again.

Show Impressions
Another good show. Cruiserweight tournaments are just always the best.

Match of the Night
Tozawa vs Alexander
Match of the tournament? Maybe. We shall see.
