Drake Maverick hopes last week was the only time the WWE Universe sees him compete on 205 Live. He would also like to assure Mike Kanellis that he is still welcome on 205 Live, and Maverick will do nothing to hamper his career. Moving on, Maverick says that there will be a 6-pack challenge to determine a contender for Drew Gulak’s Cruiserweight Title.

(referee: Jessika Carr)

Show/Hide Results

Result: the match ends in a Double Count Out when Dorado prevents Carrillo from entering the ring
Time: 11:56

Match Thoughts
Good match. The ending was underwhelming, but it was intentional so these two guys can wrestle gain. I don’t mind that. The action was good throughout the match, and adding some personal drama between them can only make it better.

Backstage
Tony Nese thought he was going to beat Drew Gulak last month, but life doesn’t always go the way you expect it to. Nese says he needs to be more than just an elite athlete to lead the cruiserweight division. He plans to win the 6-pack challenge tonight and win back the title. If he doesn’t, he’s not sure where he stands in the division.

Backstage
Ariya Daivari wants to talk to Lince Dorado. Daivari says people should be talking about DOrado, not Carrillo. Daivari thinks Dorado could be a star if he loses his “dead weight.” Dorado says he is loyal to the Lucha House Party. Daivari wonders how loyal Kalisto is since he’s in the 6-pack challenge and Dorado isn’t. Gran Metalik walks up, and Daivari walks away.

Match 2
Six Pack Challenge Cruiserweight Title Number One Contender Match
Kalisto vs Tony Nese vs Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs Ariya Daivari vs Oney Lorcan vs Akira Tozawa
(referee: Danilo Anfibio)

Result: Oney Lorcan pins Tony Nese after a half-and-half suplex
Time: 11:34

Match Thoughts
Very good match. As expected, the action was chaotic and fun. Some of the standout moments were a four-person submission situation and a sort of scary moment when Kalisto got tossed over the announce table by all of his opponents. I liked the build-up to the finish, and I was happy with the result. Overall, a very entertaining match.

Ring Area
After the match, Drew Gulak comes out and holds his title in the air while staring at the new number one contender.

Show Impressions
This was a fun show. I think it did a good job of setting the groundwork for future matches that will be at least as good, or maybe even better.

Match of the Night
6-Pack Challenge
Carrillo and Dorado will surely have another match with a real finish. Tonight, the 6-pack challenge was the more entertaining match.
