Show/Hide Match Previews

Match 1
“Superbad” Kip Sabian w/ Penelope Ford & “The Librarian” Peter Avalon w/ “The Librarian” Leva Bates vs Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus w/ Marko Stunt
(referee: Mike Posey)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Jungle Boy pins Kip Sabian after an assisted cutter
Time: 7:57

Match Thoughts
Good match. Avalon and Sabian did pretty well to start, but Jurassic Express took over as the match went on. This was fun.

Empty Area
Tony Shiavone and Dasha Gonzalez talk about the show and the Nightmare Family’s new shirt.

Match 2
Severino Corrente vs Jimmy Havoc
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Jimmy Havoc wins via pinfall after the Acid Rainmaker
Time: 4:47

Match Thoughts
Good match. Corrente had a little offense, but this was an exhibition for Havoc. Jimmy’s been on a roll in 2020.

Ring Area
After the match, Luther attacks Havoc on the ramp. Luther hits a DDT on the ramp before walking away.

Empty Arena
Shiavone and Gonzalez let us know about some upcoming shows.

Match 3
Abadon vs Hikaru Shida
(referee: Rick Knox)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Hikaru Shida wins via pinfall after a running knee strike
Time: 5:29

Match Thoughts
Good match. Abadon’s appearance threw Shida off at first. Shida didn’t know what to make of Abadon, and that caused her to be tentative in her attacks. Abadon did pretty well, but once Shida regained her confidence, her attack on Abadon was pretty brutal. Shida’s strikes hit hard, and she breezed her way to a convincing finish. I liked the story Shida and Abadon rold in this match.

Backstage
Dasha Gonzalez asks Jimmy Havoc about the attack he just suffered at the hands of Luther. Havoc thanks Luther for the attack. As Havoc speaks, Luther runs out and again attacks Havoc from behind. Referees and officials have to pull Luther away.

Backstage
The Librarians are about to reveal their book of the month when they come across Colt Cabana. Avalon asks Cabana if he’s reading an audio book, but Cabana says he’s listening to a podcast. Avalon takes that as an insult. Cabana challenges Avalon, so Bates accepts the challenge on Avalon’s behalf.

Empty Arena
Shiavone and Gonzalez are looking forward to Dynamite tomorrow night.

Match 4
“The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss & Brandon Cutler vs Private Party
(referee: Bryce Remsburg)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Marq Quen pins Sonny Kiss after Gin & Juice
Time: 11:21

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Brandon Cutler continued his hot streak in tag matches by taking on Private Party pretty much by himself at one point, but it took a while for Cutler to get there. Most of the match had Private Party isolating Sonny Kiss. Kiss had some good individual efforts of his own though, and if he and Cutler can actually start working as a tandem, I think they could be a pretty successful tag team.

Ring Area
After the match, the Death Triangle (Pac & the Lucha Brothers) attack Privte Party, Cutler, and Kiss. Pac promises anarchy for AEW. Joey Janela runs to the ring, but he is quickly taken down by Death Triangle. Best Friends run out next (followed by Orange Cassidy), and Death Triangle finally leaves the ring.

Show Impressions
This was a good show. It felt like some of the story elements were stronger on this week’s Dark, and I liked that a lot.

Match of the Night
Kiss & Cutler vs Private Party
This was a tough decision since a lot of tonight’s matches were very entertaining, but I think the ongoing story with Cutler’s tag prowess and the emergence of Death Triangle after the match had me liking the main event the most.
