Show/Hide Match Previews

Match 1
Joe Alonzo vs Jake Hager w/ Sammy Guevara
(referee: Mike Posey)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Jake Hager wins via submission with a head and arm triangle
Time: 1:24

Match Thoughts
Squash. Alonzo was acting pretty goofy before the match, but he got destroyed once the bell rang.

Match 2
Matt Sells & Jon Cruz w/ Skyler Moore vs QT Marshall & Dustin Rhodes w/ Brandi Rhodes
(referee: Rick Knox)

Show/Hide Results

Result: QT Marshall pins Jon Cruz after an assisted cutter
Time: 4:23

Match Thoughts
This wasn’t quite a squash. QT Marshall got in a little trouble, but The Natural Nightmares didn’t have a ton of difficulty. Skyler Moore got involved by attacking Marshall once at ringside, and I was hoping Brandi would do something about it. She didn’t though, and the match went on.

Match 3
“The Chairman” Shawn Spears w/ Tully Blanchard & Robert “Ego” Anthony vs Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels
(referee: Mike Posey)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Frankie Kazarian pins Robert Anthony after the Best Meltzer Ever
Time: 10:35

Match Thoughts
The search for Spears continues. Robert Anthony did well in the match, but some miscommunication led to Spears abandoning his partner once again. SCU looked solid, and it was nice to see Daniels and Kaz teaming up again.

Match 4
Suge D vs “Superbad” Kip Sabian w/ Penelope Ford
(referee: Bryce Remsburg)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kip Sabian wins via submission with a modified octopus hold
Time: 4:30

Match Thoughts
Good match. It was short, but Suge D put up a nice fight. Sabian came through with some nice moves late in the match though, and that made the difference.

Match 5
Brandon Cutler vs Colt Cabana
(referee: Bryce Remsburg)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Colt Cabana wins via pinfall after an elbow strike and the Superman pin
Time: 4:31

Match Thoughts
This was fun. Cabana seemed to take Cutler lightly, and that frustrated Cutler. Cutler came back with some good stuff, but it felt like Cabana halted the momentum Cutler had been building on Dark.

Match 6
Corey Hollis & Mike Reed vs “The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss & “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela
(referee: Mike Posey)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Sonny Kiss pins Mike Reed after a diving elbow drop (Janela) and diving split-legged leg drop (Kiss)
Time: 6:09

Match Thoughts
Good match. This maybe felt like the most even match-up of the night. Janela and Kiss looked good together, but Kiss did get isolated by their opponents for a while. That led to a nice comeback to finish the match. I think Janela and Kiss were put together tonight out of necessity, but they are still a fun team.

Show Impressions
These were mostly squash matches with local talent, but it was a fine show. Quantity over quality perhaps, but I enjoyed it.

Match of the Night
Hollis & Reed vs Kiss & Janela
This was a fun main event for a show that wasn’t terribly eventful.
