Ring Area
Tony Shiavone, Cody, and Pharaoh welcome us to the show. At ringside (socially distancing at a reasonable length apart) are Britt Baker, Penelope Ford, Kip Sabian, Jimmy Havoc, Austin Gunn, and Billy Gunn. Shiavone reveals the right side of the AEW TNT Title tournament bracket. It will be Kip Sabian vs Dustin Rhodes, and Lance Archer vs Colt Cabana.

Match 1
Trent w/ Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy vs Kenny Omega (AEW Tag Champ)
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kenny Omega wins via pinfall after the One-Winged Angel
Time: 20:08

Match Thoughts
Very good match. I like both of these guys a lot, but I didn’t expect this match to be that good. Trent has had some really good singles matches in AEW, and this one might be his best. He and Omega went at each other for just over twenty minutes (despite the match having a 20-minute time limit, the real time was a little longer), I thought it was great. Both men started the match in a friendly way, but they both ended up using some questionable tactics as they tried to get an advantage. This was a great opener to the show!

Video
A look at Matt Hardy’s confrontation with Chris Jericho last week on Dynamite.

Video
A look at Hikaru Shida.

Match 2
Anna Jayy vs Hikaru Shida
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Hikaru Shida wins via pinfall with a falcon arrow
Time: 4:58

Match Thoughts
Good match. Jayy seemed to annoy Shida more than worry her, but Jayy did have a bit of offense during the course of the match. Shida didn’t have to much trouble with her though. The biggest thing to come out of this was probably having Britt Baker distracting Shida at ringside and the two of them having some words for each other.

Video
In a package video, Jake Hager says Jon Moxley is a fool if he thinks he can take him. Moxley says he has a big target on his back as the champ, and that pisses him off. Chris Jericho thinks it’s stupid that Moxley says he won the AEW Title for the fans. Sammy Guevara reminds us that Hager is undefeated in MMA and in AEW, but most of all Hager is a monster. Jericho says he still has a rematch with Moxley, but he’s not going to use it right now. The Inner Circle is a family, and Jericho would he happy for Hager to beat Moxley and become the AEW World Champ. Moxley says everyone has a weakness, and he just needs to find it in Hager.

Ring Area
Cody has left the commentary table, so Colt Cabana replaces him.

Video
Jake Roberts says Lance Archer is pissed about the games AEW is playing with him. Roberts and Archer don’t play games. Lance Archer is about to tear someone apart. Roberts thinks maybe Cody is being smart by avoiding Archer, or maybe Cody’s better half is telling him to stay away.

Match 3
Marko Stunt vs Lance Archer
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Lance Archer wins via pinfall after Blackout
Time: 3:46

Match Thoughts
Squash, obviously. Stunt had a small burst of offense, but it only delayed the inevitable.

Ring Area
After the match, Lance Archer throws Marko Stunt onto Orange Cassidy and Billy Gunn at ringside. Archer stares at Colt Cabana at the commentary table before leaving the ring area.

Video
Brodie Lee holds a meeting with some creepers. Lee talks about once being lost, but now he stands before us as The Exalted One. Lee gets pissed at the creepers for their weaknesses after one says the wrong thing and another yawns.

Match 4
8 & 9 vs The Natural Nightmares w/ Brandi Rhodes
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Dustin Rhodes pins 9 after an assisted cutter
Time: 4:13

Match Thoughts
Squash. I like the team of the Natural Nightmares though.

Ring Area
As the Natural Nightmares celebrate after the match, Brodie Lee comes out to the stage. Lee passes by Dustin and QT Marshall. Lee enters the ring and powerbombs 9 while 8 looks on. Lee then quietly leaves the ring area.

Video
In a hot tub, Chris Jericho celebrates April Fools Day by talking about the biggest fools he knows, The Elite. Meanwhile, Vanguard 1 flies in an spies on Jericho. Jericho notices the drone. He exits the hot tub (wearing leather pants) and attempts to apologize to Vanguard 1 for what he said last week. The words don’t come out, but the sentiment is there. Regardless, Jericho still wants Vanguard 1 in the Inner Circle. He’s even had a tiny Inner Circle shirt made for Vanguard 1. Vanguard 1 flies away, so Jericho releases the hounds. Jericho vows to get Vanguard 1 as the drone escapes.

Video
Matt Jackson takes Nick Jackson to a ring he’s had brought to them. Nick says he doesn’t remember what happened when he was attacked. He’s not ready to return to action yet, but he is feeling better. Matt talks about how the attack has made him appreciate what he has because everything could change in an instant.

Match 5
“Spanish God” Sammy Guevara & “The Chairman” Shawn Spears vs Darby Allin & “The American Nightmare” Cody
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Shawn Spears pins Darby Allin with a schoolboy (after a distraction from Sammy Guevara)
Time: 21:49

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Spears and Guevara seemed to be the better team tonight. They goofed around a fair amount, but Allin and Cody had trouble working together very well. Allin and Cody each got isolated at different points during the match, and they struggled quite a lot. Spears and Guevara were the smarter team tonight. This was a nice preview for the TNT Title tournament starting next week.

Show Impressions
Another good show. It did feel like kind of a light week for Dynamite, but really served to help build up some big matches coming up in the next few weeks.

Match of the Night
Trent vs Omega
This was really good, and I’m sure I’ll be watching it again.
