This was exciting with a lot of huge moves right from the start. The battle went back and forth with large chunks of the match dominated by each team in turn. One team would get a bunch of moves, then the other team would, then back and forth. There weren’t a whole lot of pin attempts, but as the match went longer, each pin felt like it meant more. This was a lot of fun, and I’ll be kind of surprised if the winner of this match doesn’t win the tournament.

Video
Wardlow works out a lot, and he is coming to AEW.

Video
A look at The Dark Order.

Match 2
AEW World Tag Team Title Tournament Semifinal Match
Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky vs The Dark Order
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Scorpio Sky pins Stu Grayson after an assisted knee strike (from Kazarian)
Time: 14:00

Match Thoughts
Very good match. I felt like this one took a little while to get going, but that might just be because the first match of the night was so fast-paced. This was a fun match with a great second half. The Inner Circle (consisting of Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz) walked through the crowd during the match which caused a distraction for everyone, but after that the match picked up considerably. I was happy with this.

Match 3
Joey Janela vs Kenny Omega (AAA Mega Champ)
(referee: Bryce Remsberg)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kenny Omega wins via pinfall after the One-Winged Angel
Time: 10:06 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Unlike their violent match on AEW Dark, this was a straightforward, fast-paced match of strikes and slams. I think both men benefited from this match. They both looked great, and they both kicked out of some rough moves. Janela took one too many chances though, and when Omega is on his game a mistake like that won’t be overlooked. Omega was on his game tonight.

Ring Area
Cody heads to the ring where he is met by Tony Shiavone. Cody has an announcement to make, but the Inner Circle blasts air horns from their perch in the crowd. After a few seconds of annoyance, Cody tells Jericho that this isn’t like the other company they came from. If Cody wanted to, he could head up to Jericho’s box seats and fight him right now. Jericho tells Cody that he’s a coward and a bitch.

Cody removes his jacket and heads toward the barricade. Jericho reminds Cody that it’s still four on one right now… but Cody has some backup. Dustin Rhodes comes out, then MJF comes out next. Jericho mocks MJF’s scarf and says the Inner Circle still has the advantage. DDP’s music plays, and Diamond Dallas Page comes out to the stage.

The Nightmare Family heads up the stairs in the crowd while the Inner Circle retreats behind a locked door. Using MJF’s scarf for protection, Cody punches through the glass window on the door and drags Jericho out. A brawl erupts as the Inner Circle and the Nightmare Family fight out into the concourse of the arena. The match started evenly, but the Best Friends rose and dominated most of the middle part of the match. Chuck and Trent’s teamwork was great, and Orange Cassidy did his part to keep the Best Friends in control. It wasn’t until very late in the match that the Bucks began to separate Trent from Chuck, but that allowed Nick and Matt to hit their trademark quick combination offense. Moxley gradually took control of the match, but the time limit became a factor as the end of the show drew closer.
