Even being unaware of any of the history in the rivalry between Aldis and Storm, I got into this match. It built up well to an exciting and tense finish. The actual finish felt a little sudden, but I think it worked well. It definitely showed the smarts of the champ.

Studio
Joe Gallis asks Aldis for a few words. Gallis then asks Kamille how she’s feeling after taking an inadvertent clothesline from Aldis, but Kamille doesn’t say anything. It’s a little unclear as to whether Kamille doesn’t want to speak or if Aldis doesn’t want her to speak, but regardless, the result is the same. Kamille is silent, and Aldis gets booed for it.

Show Impressions
This was a fun show. The only match that I would rewatch would be the main event, but tonight’s episode did a good job of introducing us to a lot of the wrestlers we’ll be seeing. I like the feel of the studio and the throwback aesthetics. I think they need to make sure it doesn’t feel too campy because that’s a line they could get very close to with the look and feel, but for now it feels like a modernish take on classic wrestling. It’s a nice mix, and I appreciate that the show feels different than any other major promotion right now.

Match of the Night
Tim Storm vs Nick Aldis
This was a nice, straightforward match. I kind of wanted the finish to be more definitive, especially given the stipulation of Storm never being able to challenge for the title again, but that’s a monor nitpick in an otherwise very good main event. It sets a good standard for Powerrr.

Tim Storm challenges Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Championship for maybe the last time in a good debut episode of NWA Powerrr.

[2998,2999,297
1743,3011,3010,944,3012,3018,3007,3003,3006,3019,987,1744,3002,3020,676,74,3013,3001,3005,1497,3017,3004,1895,3022,3000,3016,3009,3015,3021,3014,3008
post-7131","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nwa","category-powerrr","category-show-results","tag-atlanta-ga","tag-austin-idol","tag-billy-buck","tag-brian-hebner","tag-caleb-konley","tag-danny-white","tag-dave-dawson","tag-david-marquez","tag-dawsons","tag-eddie-kingston","tag-eli-drake","tag-georgia","tag-gpb-studios","tag-homicide","tag-james-storm","tag-jim-cornette","tag-jocephus","tag-joe-galli","tag-kamille","tag-mike-posey","tag-mims","tag-nick-aldis","tag-nwa","tag-nwa-worlds-heavyweight-title-match","tag-powerrr","tag-royce-isaacs","tag-sal-rinauro","tag-thomas-latimer","tag-tim-storm","tag-wild-cards","tag-zane-dawson
["GET
