Jay was confident, but Ford&#8217;s strength (and a little help from Sabian) carried her to a reasonably easy victory. The commentators said this was Anna Jay&#8217;s AEW debut, but she had a match on Dynamite recently against Hikaru Shida. Still, this match was taped prior to Jay&#8217;s <em>Dynamite<\/em> match, so I guess technically it was Jay&#8217;s debut in real time, though not on TV. Cody wanted some friendly competition, but Alonzo tried to take advantage of Cody during a handshake, so Coy made him pay. Easy night for Cody.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Show Impressions<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThis was fine. The show was taped at Daily&#8217;s Place, which means it happened before the most recent few episodes of Dyanmite and Dark. Maybe these were backup matches they weren&#8217;t going to show unless they ran out of other matches to show. They did seem to record an awful lot of squash matches at Daily&#8217;s Place (considering the first empty-arena episode of Dark had six matches), so I guess they had some extras banked just in case.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Match of the Night<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Anna Jay vs Penelope Ford<\/strong><br \/>\nI think this was the more interesting match tonight. I think Cody&#8217;s great, but he had no trouble with Alonzo.
