Match Thoughts
Very good match. There was a lot of personality in this match with both guys even dancing at one point early in the match. There were also some very good pinning combinations early on, then later there were some nice high-flying moves. The commentary put over how well these two know each other, and that played out in the match with a lot of counters. This was a lot of fun to watch.

Backstage

Result: Zack Sabre Jr. wins via pinfall with a bridging pin counter to a dragon sleeper
Time: 8:28

Match Thoughts
Fantastic match. Sabre has been touted as one of the best technical wrestlers in the world, and Gulak went into this match to prove that he was better. He was fighting angry, but that anger was channeled into great counters for many of Sabre’s moves and holds. Sabre seemed thrown off a little which let Gulak dominate the match at times. This match was a combination of great counter wrestling and some heavy strikes. You never knew what was going to happen next because the counters were very unique. It felt like the match could have ended at any given second.

TJ Perkins wants to represent his generation. Johnny Gargano wants to be the top cruiserweight in the world.

Match 3
Johnny Gargano vs TJ Perkins
(referee: Eddie Orengo)

Result: TJ Perkins wins via submission with a knee bar
Time: 12:20

Match Thoughts
Great match. Gargano was selling a knee injury that they said happened at Takeover, but this was taped more than a month ago, so… yeah. Regardless, the knee played a huge role in the match which gave it a good focal point. There was a lot of heart in this match from both guys, and there were a few really great spots.

Show Impressions
Another great show. What else is there really to say? This sets up the last of the quarter final matches which all look fantastic.

Match of the Night
Zack Sabre Jr. vs Drew Gulak
I thought the main event was great too, but the chains and counters in this match combined with the way Gulak forced this match to be fought in a sort of desperate way made this the most exciting match of the night for me.
