(referee: Charles Robinson)

Result: Lince Dorado pins TJP after a handspring stunner
Time: 9:11

Match Thoughts
Good match. I really enjoy the lucha team. They looked great in this one, and TJP looked great against them. You could see the finish to this one coming way before it happened, but it was still good.

Backstage
Drew Gulak campaigns to become the new 205 Live GM. 205 Live needs someone with the right values, someone who will stop the high flying and chanting. He wants to turn 205 Live into a “Drew-topia.”

Match 2
Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs Hideo Itami
(referee: Danilo Anfibio)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Hideo Itami wins via pinfall after a dragon sleeper into a single-knee facebreaker
Time: 6:23

Math Thoughts
Pretty good match. There were a couple of moments when they seemed to hesitate for a split-second, but those were minor and fleeting. Overall this was good, though I’m sure they can put together a better, more intense match.

Backstage
Akira Tozawa thinks he could be a good boss, so he tells some random guy that he’s fired. Then he struts.

Match 3
Cedric Alexander vs Mustafa Ali
(referee: Jason Ayers)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Cedric Alexander wins via pinfall after a Lumbar Check
Time: 11:50

Match Thoughts
Great match. This started out as some fun, friendly competition, and it gradually turned into an exciting and highly competitive match. Both guys looked like they were trying to make a statement now that the top of 205 Live is vacant, and I think they both made solid arguments for themselves. The last few minutes of this were fantastic, and everything leading up to that worked to get the crowd more and more interested.

Show Impressions
I’m glad the show is back to its normal length after last week’s short episode, and I like the uncertainty caused by Enzo’s departure. It makes the show feel fresh. It had gotten quite stagnant with the Zo Train every week, but now that seems to be broken up. Lince Dorado is back, TJP is back, and there’s a new story involving pretty much everyone with the naming of a new GM. I liked the feel of this show, and hopefully it’s a sign of a new direction for 205 Live.

Match of the Night
Cedric Alexander vs Mustafa Ali
This was about as good as I’d hoped it would be given the two men involved. Which is to say, it was very good.
