Match 1
Lio Rush vs Akira Tozawa
(referee: Ryan Tran)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Lio Rush wins via pinfall after the Golden Hour
Time: 7:51

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Tozawa was ready for this match and was able to avoid and counter a lot of what we’ve seen Lio Rush do in the last few weeks. Tozawa looked very good, but the speed of Lio Rush is something special. Rush utilized his speed to gain key advantages, and for the first time in 205 Live he showed resilience in the face of a formidable attack. This was a very good match for Rush.

Drew Gulak thinks Cedric Alexander has grown complacent.

Drew Gulak and Brian Kendrick help Jack Gallgher prepare for his match with the champ.

Backstage
Kayla Braxton asks Drake Maverick about Mustafa Ali’s condition. Maverick says Ali is suffering from extreme exhaustion. Ali will be okay, but he needs time to recover. For that reason, Maverick says Ali will not compete on 205 Live until he feels certain that Ali is back at 100%.

Match 2
Hideo Itami vs Trent Newman
(referee: Mike Chioda)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Hideo Itami wins via Match Stoppage
Time: 2:45

Match Thoughts
Squash. It wasn’t a terribly brutal beating, but Itami wouldn’t pin Newman, so the referee had to make a call. I like seeing things like this every once in a while.

Video
Cedric Alexander has been training harder than ever before.

Backstage
Cedric Alexander prepares for his match.

Backstage
Drake Maverick (sarcastically) congratulates Tony Nese and Buddy Murphy on their win last week. For the way they earned their victory, Nese and Murphy will face the entire Lucha House Party in a tornado tag match next week.

Match 3
Cedric Alexander (Cruiserweight Champ) vs Gentleman Jack Gallagher
(referee: Jason Ayers)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Cedric Alexander wins via pinfall after a Spanish Fly
Time: 14:03

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Gallagher showed his considerable technical skills, his painful brutality, and his surprising strength in this match. This was a great test for Alexander, and it made the champ react in new and different ways. It showed a lot of what Alexander can do, and it was a great lead-in for his title match in a few days. It was also a very tough match for him, so it adds tension for Sunday’s match. Will he be at 100%?

Ring Area
As Alexander makes his way up the ramp after the match, Brian Kendrick attacks him. The two fight their way back to the ring. With Alexander’s focus on Kendrick, Drew Gulak attacks Alexander from behind. Gulak applies the GuLock which leaves Cedric down in the center od the ring as the show ends.

Show Impressions
I liked this show. I think the main event was a great segment before Summer Slam, and the Rush/Tozawa match was very entertaining.

Match of the Night
Alexander vs Gallagher
Great match.
