(referee: Charles Robinson)

Show/Hide Results

Result: TJP wins via pinfall with a schoolboy after removing Dorado’s mask
Time: 8:31

Match Thoughts
Good match. TJP had a bit of a hard time against Dorado. He could never seem to get ahead despite some nice offense. Dorado kept coming back and hit a few big moves that caused TJP to got more and more worn down. That led to a finish that made perfect sense. It was somewhat frusting, but it was supposed to be, so it worked well.

Backstage
Lio Rush informs Drake Maverick that he can’t compete tonight because of his activities on RAW. Maverick is happy that Rush is doing stuff on RAW, but Rush must still fulfill his commitments on 205 Live. So next week, Rush will compete against Noam Dar or face the consequences. Rush says that’s fine, he’ll face Dar next week.

Backstage
Drake Maverick tells Mustafa Ali that he has been cleared to compete and will face Hideo Itami next week. Ali is quite happy.

Match 2

Drew Gulak w/ Jack Gallagher, The Brian Kendrick vs Cedric Alexander (Cruiserweight Champ)
(referee: Danilo Anfibio; watching in the back: Buddy Murphy)

Result: Cedric Alexander wins via pinfall after the Lumbar Check
Time: 20:15

Match Thoughts
Great match! I was kind of torn while watching this. I love Cedric as the champ and I always want him to win, but I started pulling for Gulak during this match as well. As invested as I was in the match, the action certainly delivered. This built up to some great sequences. There weren’t a whole lot of flashy moves (except for at least one notable exception), but that’s exactly what I wanted to see. Gulak kept going for the GuLock and his anger grew as the match went on. That put Cedric on the defensive at times, and Cedric excels when he’s fighting back. This was another great title match for Cedric’s reign as champ.

Backstage
Kayla Braxton asks Buddy Murphy about his upcoming title match. Murphy says, like always, he’s going to steal the show when he gets his title shot in Australia.

Show Impressions
Obviously the title match was a big deal and was a ton of fun, but I liked the opening match as well. I like TJP a lot, but this match made me want to see him get beat by Dorado in the future. THat means it worked well.

Match of the Night
Gulak vs Alexander
Very entertaining.
