Backstage
Kayla Braxton and Vic Joseph are excited for the final night of Mixed Match Challenge and the finals at TLC.

Video
From a few weeks ago, Kayla Braxton spoke with Mahalicia after their win over Curt Hawkins and Ember Moon.

Backstage
Bayley and her new partner Apollo Crews join Vic and Kayla. Bayley says they are prepared, and they’re going to win. Crews is happy about being number 30 in the Royal Rumble, but he seems more excited about the trip the winners will get. The Singh Brothers walk up and say that Bayley and Crews aren’t going on vacation, they’ll be going home. Tonight. Bayley kicks Sunil Singh in the butt.

Video
Last week, Kayla spoke with The Miz and Asuka. Miz credits their most recent win to his new shoes. As long as Asuka doesn’t screw up, The Miz is confident that they’ll win the whole thing. Asuka slaps Miz on the chest and walks away.

Backstage
R-Truth and Carmella join Kayla as Vic heads to ringside. R-Truth knows that Miz likes to talk, but R-Truth stopped listening a long time ago. The Truth is, that Asuka carries their team. Carmella is excited about the trip, but R-Truth is still confused about where they should go.

(referee: Rod Zapata)

Result: Alicia Fox pins Bayley after a running boot to the face
Time: 9:33

Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. Jinder Mahal slowed things down considerably when he started to take over against Crews, but the parts with Bayley and Alicia were fun.

Backstage
Kayla Braxton congratulates Mahalicia. Mahal knew this day would come. He’s seen visions of himself on the beach with the Singhs and Alicia. Alicia says they’ve been on a streak because she is the captain.

Asuka walks up and talks to Alicia in Japanese. Fox doesn’t like it.

Match 2
MMC Playoff Semifinal Match
Asuka & The Miz vs Carmella & R-Truth
(referee: Mike Chioda)

Show/Hide Results

Result: R-Truth pins The Miz after an unprettier
Time: 11:36

Match Thoughts
Good match. Asuka and The Miz didn’t get along at all, and that led directly to a blowup prior to the finish. It felt inevitable, but it was still fun watching the finish develop throughout the match.

Show Impressions
Despite Michael Cole’s terribly unfunny and hyperbolic idiocy on commentary, I enjoyed this show. I liked seeing how these matches ended up, even if I kind of expected them to go down the way they did. With the finals being at TLC, it was clear that Asuka would not be in the MMC Finals. Also, even though I like Apollo Crews, a newly formed team should not have won in the semifinals. I’m glad they didn’t. This means we’ll get at least one more time to see Mahalicia together.

Match of the Night
Awe-Ska vs Fabulous Truth
A good story with some surprisingly good near falls towards the end of the match.
