(referee: Drake Wuertz)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Jordan Devlin wins via pinfall after Ireland’s Call
Time: 5:20

Match Thoughts
Good match. Kenny Williams surprised Devlin early in the match with some nice, agile offense a few really good counters. Devlin eventually took control of the match and brutally put Williams away. The finish wasn’t a surprise, but overall, the match was fun to watch.

Ring Area
After the match, Radzi tries to ask Jordan Devlin a question. Devlin takes the mic away from Radzi and says that he’s made it his mission to call out the fakes in NXT UK. Devlin says he has a new target, but he doesn’t say who it is.

Backstage
Radzi welcomes Johnny Saint and Sid Scala. Scala says they’ve been discussing potential matches for Takeover when Rhea Ripley walks up. Ripley says she heard what Storm said earlier, but Ripley says she will decide who her challenger at Takeover will be. Next week though, Ripley wants to defend her title.

Saint and Scala discuss it for less than a minute and come up with a challenger. Next week, Rhea Ripley will defend her title against Deonna Purrazzo.

Match 2
Dan Maloney vs Eddie Dennis
(referee: Joel Allen)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Eddie Dennis wins via DQ when Dave Mastiff attacks him
Time: 1:13

Match Thoughts
Dan Maloney started quickly, but this wasn’t much of a match. As soon as Dennis started to take control at ringside, Dave Mastiff ran down to the ring and attacked him.

Ring Area
Dan Maloney isn’t happy with Dave Mastiff for costing him his match, but Mastiff isn’t in the mood to talk. Mastiff drops Maloney with a punch and follows up with a cannonball in the corner.

Backstage
Sid Scala tells Ligero that tonight is his opportuinity to impress himself and Johnny Saint. Gallus walks up, and Joe Coffey tells Ligero that tonight isn’t about him. Tonight is about Joe Coffey earning a title match. Scala tells Gallus to watch themselves, and that they will have a tag tournament semifinal match against Moustache Mountain in two weeks.

Video
Zack Gibson tells James Drake about Liverpool, giving him a history lesson by using himself as an example. He says Liverpool is jealous of Gibson for his success. He also says Drake and Gobson will make history as the first ever NXT UK tag champs.

Match 3
Jack Starz & Tucker vs Saxon Huxley & Tyson T-Bone
(referee: )

Show/Hide Results

Result: Saxon Huxley pins Jack Starz after a knee strike (Huxley) and a punch (T-Bone)
Time: 2:41

Match Thoughts
This was pretty much a squash. Starz and Tucker had a little (very little) offense, but Huxley and T-Bone had their way in this match.

Backstage
Radzi welcomes Isla Dawn. Dawn says she is prepared to rise up and continue on her path to the NXT UK Women’s Title. Jinny walks up and says that no one cares about Dawn’s path. Jinny wouldn’t have lost if she had a title match like Dawn did.

Match 4
Ligero vs Joe Coffey w/ Mark Coffey, Wolfgang
(referee: Drake Wuertz)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Joe Coffey wins via pinfall after a discus lariat while Ligero is springboarding off the ropes
Time: 10:08

Match Thoughts
Very good match. Ligero brought a good fight to Joe Coffey, but Coffey’s powerful moves proved to be too much for the smaller man. I think this showed a little bit of a different side for Coffey. He had to endure some high-flying offense that seemed to surprise him, and that made this interesting even if the outcome wasn’t much of a surprise.

Show Impressions
Good show. This episode set up a lot of things that will happen in the future, but it also had a good first and last match.

Match of the Night
Ligero vs Joe Coffey
I like this matchup.
