Match 1
Travis Banks vs Jamie Ahmed
(referee: )
Result: Travis Banks wins via pinfall after Slice of Heaven (second-rope jumping gamengiri)
Time: 2:43
Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. This wasn’t a squash, but it was close. This was an exhibition for Banks, and he looked fine. Ahmed got a few shots in, but that just allowed Banks up to an energetic finish.
Ring Area
After the match, Jordan Devlin comes out to the stage. Devlin talks about how Travis Banks abandoned his home. Devlin, on the other hand, visits his home all the time.
Video
Clips of the feud between Moustache Mountain and Gallus.
Match 2
Kenny Williams & Amir Jordan vs Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner
(referee: Joel Allen)
Result: Fabian Aichner pins Amir Jordan after an assisted pop-up German suplex
Time: 8:31
Match Thoughts
Good match. This was a very dominant performance from Aichner and Barthel. They managed to isolate Jordan for most of the match. Williams got involved late in the match to help Jordan, but it was too late by that point. Barthel and Aichner worked well as a team.
Video
Before the event, Radzi saw Toni Storm and Deonna Purrazzo talking inside the venue. Storm challenged Purrazzo to some friendly competition, and Purrazzo accepted.
Backstage
Johnny Saint says NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool will be historic. Sic Scala starts to talk about some of the planned matches, but Joe Coffey interrupts him. Joe is angry that Saint and Scala aren’t paying attention to him and giving him the title match he wants. Scala says he and Saint will take Coffey’s demands under advisement.
Match 3
Candy Floss vs Jinny
(referee: )
Result: Jinny wins via pinfall after a ripcord rolling kick
Time: 4:23
Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. Candy Floss got a surprising amount of offense in this match. She’s young and sometimes seems like she’s not entirely sure what to do next, but she did surprise me a little tonight. Jinny had a difficult time figuring out how to defend against Candy, and it wasn’t until the very end of the match that Jinny really looked like she was in control.
Backstage
Gallus heads towards the ring area for the main event.
Match 4
NXT UK Tag Title Tournament Semifinal Match
Moustache Mountain vs Mark Coffey & Wolfgang w/ Joe Coffey
(referee: Drake Wuertz)
Result: Trent Seven pins Mark Coffey after a tandem rebound lariat (Bate) and release dragon suplex (Seven)
Time: 14:37
Match Thoughts
Very good match. Gallus had a strong showing early in the match. They isolated Trent Seven for an extended amount of time and looked good as a team. Once Tyler Bate got tagged in though, the match fell apart for Gallus. Bate took on both Mark and Wolfgang and dominated with his speed and incredible strength. Gallus tried to mount a comeback, but Seven had recovered enough by that time to help Bate fend off some of their double team attempts.
Ring Area
After the match, Joe Coffey attacks Pete Dunne at ringside. Gallus then attacks all of British Strong Style. Pete Dunne gets up and fights back which allows Bate and Seven to fight back as well. Gallus is cleared from the ring, and British Strong Style stands tall. Dunne gets on the mic and tells Joe Coffey that he spoke with Johnny Saint, and their title match for Takeover is official.
Gallus enters the ring again, and the show ends with everyone still brawling.
Show Impressions
Good show. Tag team wrestling was the focus tonight, and the two tag matches were quite entertaining.
Match of the Night
Moustache Mountain vs Mark Coffey & Wolfgang
No surprise that this was a good match. I’m glad it ended the way it did.
