Oney Lorcan says none of this is personal. He holds no ill will toward Humberto Carrillo, but he still crushed him. Tonight, he will do the same to Cedric Alexander. It’s not personal though.

Match Thoughts
Good match. The pace was slower and more methodical to start, but it built up to some big moves and hard strikes throughout the latter portion of the match. This was a good test for both me. For Cedric specifically, he had to overcome Lorcan’s rough style and look for openings where he could use his speed.

Backstage
Mike Kanellis says he has paid his dues, so he demands respect from Drake Maverick. Last week, Maverick put Mike in a match out of pity. Mike says he deserves better. Maverick agrees. Next week, Mike will face one of the top cruiserweights in the world. Before Mike and Maria leave, Drake says that 205 Live is about winning, so looking good in defeat isn’t going to cut it forever.

Result: Tony Nese wins via pinfall with a counter to the GuLock
Time: 17:09

Match Thoughts
Great match. Nese tried to match Gulak hold for hold, and though Nese did well, Gulak began to dominate after a while. There were lots of very nice chains and counters in this match. Nese began to try to use some flying against Gulak, but Gulak was able to avoid most of it. It took some clever counters at just the right times for Nese to get any significant offense in this match after a while.

Show Impressions
Good show. The tournament was pretty much the sole focus, and both matches were quite good.

Match of the Night
Tony Nese vs Drew Gulak
This was quite a bit more interesting to watch for me. The extended sequences of holds and counters gave the match a nice flow.
