Match 1
Jordan Devlin vs Dan Maloney
(referee: DA Brewer)
Result: Jordan Devlin wins via pinfall after a high angle backdrop driver
Time: 4:29
Match Thoughts
Pretty good match. It was a bit short, but this was a good exhibition for Devlin. I enjoyed it.
Ring Area
Kassius Ohno comes out and heads to the ring. He wants to explain his actions from last week, and he wants his words to sound sincere. He reads a speech from his phone, saying that it was wrong to attack Ashton Smith they way he did. It was wrong, but he just couldn’t help himself. Ohno puts his phone away and says it was gratifying to help Smith up only to knoc him back down.
Ohno says NXT UK told him to make a statement in his debut, so that’s what he did. Also, Ohno couldn’t help but notice a New Zealander masquerading as a British wrestler. If Travis Banks wants to get in Ohno’s business, then Ohno will smash Banks to bits.
Video
Dave Mastiff need to prove his strength and never show weakness.
Video
Where in the world is Jinny? She’s in India representing WWE and NXT UK. Jinny says Toni Storm isn’t there because Jinny is a better wrestler. The people of India need a hero, and Storm is nobodies hero.
Match 2
Xia Brookside vs Rhea Ripley
(referee: Joel Allen)
Result: Rhea Ripley wins via pinfall after Riptide
Time: 7:21
Match Thoughts
Good match. Ripley continued to show her dominance, but Brookside gave her a very good fight. This felt like Brookside was taking a step up in regards to her credibility in NXT UK. I believed that Brookside could have beaten Ripley tonight. I think this is a good sign for the UK women’s division. It’s starting to feel like more of a competitive division instead of a few superstars high above everyone else.
Ring Area
After the match, Ripley is amazed that the UK women’s division hasn’t yet learned that Ripley will put anyone and everyone down. Ripley says she is the dominant woman in NXT UK.
Piper Niven comes out and heads to the ring. As Niven enters the ring, Ripley leaves. Niven says Ripley isn’t the most dominant woman in NXT UK anymore.
Backstage
Radzi asks Isla Dawn she thinks about Piper Niven. Dawn is excited to see another Scotswoman in NXT UK. Kay Lee Ray thinks that’s cute. She wonders if Dawn thinks that since they’re all from Scotland that they’ll form some sort of group? Ray says she’s not here for that, she’s here to dominate the competition. Who knows, maybe Dawn will be next for Ray.
Video
A look at Walter and his journey to a WWE UK Title match.
Backstage
Radzi asks Trent Seven where he’s at in NXT UK. Seven says he’s a little miffed that Joe Coffey called him “dead weight,” so he might be looking for a match with Coffey.
Selfie Promo
Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel don’t think Williams and Jordan’s training video last week was funny. There is nothing funny about this business, and there is nothin funny about Aichner and Barthel. They blame the fans for encouraging talentless jokes like Williams and Jordan. To Barthel and Aichner, the mat is sacred.
Match 3
Mark Andrews vs Noam Dar
(referee: Drake Wuertz)
Result: the match ends in a No Contest when Noam Dar is injured by an attempted reverse hurricanrana
Time: 12:06
Match Thoughts
Great match. This was fast and exciting, and both men looked really great. I particularly enjoyed a sequence of strikes and evades that went back and forth early in the match. Unfortunately, the finish involved a scary looking injury to Noam Dar’s left leg. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it seems.
Ring Area
After the match, both men are attended to. Dar seems like he’s worse off than Andrews, and Dar is the one who everyone is focused on. Both men are carried away on stretchers.
Ring Area
Johnny Saint and Sid Scala head to the ring. They prepare to oversee the contract signing for the upcoming WWE UK Title match.
Walter heads down to the ring followed by Pete Dunne. After both men take a seat, Scala asks Walter if he has anything to say. Walter says nothing. Instead, Walter takes the contracts, signs it, and slides it over to Dunne.
Pete Dunne says Walter doesn’t have to say anything. Dunne says it isn’t just the NXT UK Universe that wants this match. Dunne also wants this match. At Takeover: New York, Walter will learn that NXT UK belongs to Pete Dunne and the UK Title will always belong to him. Dunne signs the contract.
As Dunne begins to leave, Walter addresses “Peter.” Walter says he doesn’t need to put Dunne through the table between them to prove a point (even though he could). At Takeover, the reign of the Bruiserweight will end. Walter says the UK Title is his.
Show Impressions
This show had a good balance of story and wrestling. I quite enjoyed the matches, and I’ really looking forward to what will happen in the women’s division over the next few weeks and months.
Match of the Night
Mark Andrews vs Noam Dar
It’s too bad about how the match ended, but hopefully this will lead to a great rematch once both men are back to 100%.
