Last week on NXT, Lio Rush defeated Oney Lorcan and became the number one contender for Drew Gulak’s Cruiserweight Title.
Backstage
Drew Gulak was surprised to see the return of Lio Rush, but there is nothing Rush can do that Gulak isn’t prepared for. As for Oney Lorcan, he could have surprised Gulak and Nese with a new partner tonight, but he chose to bring Danny Burch to 205 Live instead.
Backstage
The Singh brothers are sad to see jealousy get between family members Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza. The Singh brothers would never let jealousy get between them.

“Hail to the Crown” by CFO$ featuring From Ashes to New
Match 1
Humberto Carrillo vs Angel Garza
(referee: Charles Robinson)
Result: Humberto Carrillo wins via pinfall with the Aztec Press
Time: 13:56
Match Thoughts
Very good match. It’s clear that Garza and Carrillo know each other very well (as they should), and that helped make this match quite exciting. It was fast-paced with lots and lots of fun chains and counters. This was a good match for both men. Carrillo kind of needed a strong win after some recent losses, and Garza continued to show how good he is.
Backstage
Sarah Schreiber welcomes The Brian Kendrick. Kendrick says he attacked Gallagher and Tozawa because of the epidemic of disrespect in the 205 Live locker room. If it wasn’t for Kendrick, there would be no 205 Live. Kendrick hasn’t had a title match in three years, but he’s a former champ. Kendrick will beat respect into the superstars of 205 Live.
Match 2
Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan vs Tony Nese & Drew Gulak (Cruiserweight Champ)
(referee: Dan Engler)
Result: Danny Burch pins Tony Nese after an assisted hanging DDT
Time: 14:25
Match Thoughts
Good match. This was a nice 205 Live debut for Danny Burch, though who knows if he’ll stick around. The finish wasn’t much of a surprise, but it does add a bit of a wrinkle in Tony Nese’s idea that teaming back up with Drew Gulak is a good idea.
Show Impressions
This was another good show. It didn’t feel like any story lines really moved forward, but it was an entertaining show regardless.
Match of the Night
Humberto Carrillo vs Angel Garza
Both matches tonight were good and very different, but I enjoyed the opening match the most.
