Backstage
Tony Shiavone welcomes the Young Bucks. The Bucks are ready for Private Party, but Omega interrupts their interview. Omega is frustrated that he didn’t have a match on Dynamite, so he set up an unsanctioned Lights Out match with Joey Janela for Dark. The Bucks are frustrated and think Omega is being reckless.

Match 1
“The Librarian” Peter Avalon w/ “The Librarian” Leva Bates vs “Superbad” Kip Sabian vs “The Concrete Rose” Sonny Kiss
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kip Sabian pins Pete Avalon after Deathly Hallows
Time: 6:08

Match Thoughts
Good match. Sonny Kiss threw off both Sabian and Avalon early in the match with his style, but after a while all three men got into the fight. Sabian dislocated a finger late in the match, and that changed the tone of the match somewhat. Avalon tried to take out Kiss while Sabian recovered, but Avalon couldn’t get the job done in time. Sabian got back into the match, and that led to a fun finish.

Match 2
TheHybrid2 & Dark Order vs CIMA & SCU
(referee: Rick Knox)

Result: Jack Evans pins Scorpio Sky with a bridging backslide (and a double low blow with Angelico)
Time: 9:50

Match Thoughts
Very good match. After the first few minutes it was pretty much a chaotic back and forth free-for-all, but it was a lot of fun. I was maybe a little surprised with the finish, but it worked well and I wasn’t upset with who won.

Match 3
Lights Out Match
“The Bad Boy” Joey Janela vs Kenny Omega
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kenny Omega wins via pinfall after a One-Winged Angel on a steel chair
Time: 26:31

Match Thoughts
Great match. Omega started strong, but after a while he seemed to be somewhat out of his element. Janela took over and punished Moxley with strikes, slams, and many pieces of furniture. That set up Omega for a comeback late in the match, but Janela kept pushing the violence all the way until the end. I think this was a good step for Omega in his feud with Moxley, and it was a good match for Janela being so competitive against Omega.

Show Impressions
This was a very good show. I appreciate that they’re delivering good, lengthy matches on Dark that could have easily been on Dynamite or even a PPV.

Match of the Night
Janela vs Omega
If this is Omega’s warm-up for Moxley, how violent will that match be?
