The first of two nights to end the NJPW year at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo serves as a nice preview of things to come at Wrestle Kingdom in a few short weeks.
The second round of A Block matches were consistently very good despite not having the same blockbuster match-ups as the opening night.
B Block of the 2017 G1 Climax starts with a round of great matches featuring, among other things, Juice Robinson getting off to an impressive start, EVIL and SANADA tearing the house down, and Kenny Omega trying to survive against the maniac Minoru Suzuki!
The 2017 G1 Climax started with some good (and some great) matches from A Block and set up the start of B Block in a very nice way with some interesting tag matches!
Mayu Iwatani takes on her first challenger for the World of Stardom Title as she battles Yoko Bito in a night of very good matches at Korakuen Hall!
The focus of tonight’s Stardom show at Shinkiba 1st Ring seemed to be to set up the upcoming Korakuen Hall show, but it managed to have some pretty good matches as well.
Team Jungle competes in two big tag matches in Jungle Kyona’s hometown, and Oedo Tai attempts to divide and conquer Gabby Ortiz and Shanna in two singles matches in a very good Stardom show coming out of Nagoya!
This was an okay Stardom show. While it didn’t feel particularly important, it featured two good tag matches: Oedo Tai vs Queen’s Quest and Team Jungle vs B.I. Ho.
Stardom takes over Korakuen Hall with two big title matches: Oedo Tai challenges Team Jungle for the Goddess of Stardom titles and Mayu Iwatani gets another shot at Io Shirai’s World of Stardom championship!
Queen’s Quest puts their Artist of Stardom Titles on the line against Team Jungle in a nice Stardom show which also featuring the Stardom debut of Women of Honor’s Gabby Ortiz!
Mayu Iwatani puts her Wonder of Stardom Title on the line against Hana Kimura, and HZK tests her abilities against Io Shirai in a nice night of action from Stardom!
There were a lot of big expectations going in to many of the matches at Dominion, and I think they were met and in some cases exceeded. This was a great show top to bottom.
Two nights before the big event in Osaka, the Road to Dominion had a lot of fun tag matches and managed to build some solid interest in all of the upcoming title matches.
Kairi Hojo says goodbye to Stardom in an emotional night where her Artist of Stardom Titles are on the line against Queen’s Quest.
The Best of the Super Jr. 24 tournament ends with great final match a bunch of fun tag matches in the undercard.
It wasn’t quite as exciting as the finale of Block A, but the last night of B Block matches still provided some surprising and entertaining matches and moments.
Block A of the tournament ends with four very good matches full of emotion and action.
This was one of the standout nights featuring a standout match between KUSHIDA and Ryusuke Taguchi.
Block A evens out the top of the bracket with some good matches highlighted by Liger vs Dragon Lee and Hiromu Takahashi vs Marty Scurll.
