A few solid matches and a little story development make this an NXT easily worth watching.
The final stop before Takeover: Chicago didn’t have much in the way of new developments, but it was an okay show regardless.
Including the results of the fallout from the women’s battle royal last week, matches for all of NXT’s titles at Takeover: Chicago are determined in this episode, including a great number one contender match between Hideo Itami and Roderick Strong.
Tyler Bate puts his UK title on the line against Jack Gallagher, and Ruby Riot can’t seem to get away from Nikki Cross in this very entertaining episode of NXT.
Tye Dillinger says farewell to NXT in a satisfying ending to his feud with Eric Young and SAnitY inside a steel cage.
Though this felt more like a continuation of stroylines rather than a culmination, this year’s Wrestlemania-weekend Takeover had some very good matches and really fantastic moments. It wasn’t all spectacular, but it was very entertaining.
Roderick Strong makes his NXT debut teaming up with Austin Aries in a good episode of NXT.
With a handful of debuts, two more matches in the Dusty Classic, and a minor payoff to Samoa Joe’s attacks over the last few weeks, this was an entertaining episode of NXT.
The 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic starts with one squash and one good match, Samoa Joe ruins Dan Matha’s debut, Patrick Clark debut’s a new look when he faces Rich Swann, and Peyton Royce beats up a new girl with her friend Billie Kay by her side.
Storylines seemed to take a backseat this week, but that allowed Cedric Alexander’s NXT debut to take center stage.
This was a good episode of NXT with two very nice matches and two that were basically exhibitions.
The wrestling was a little lacking on this episode. A good number of matches, but the quality just wasn’t there. This episode felt like a placeholder while they start to rebuild feuds after Takeover.
NXT gives Summer Slam a run for its money with another great Takeover with some fantastic title matches.
The matches were short, but things are shaping up nicely for Takeover.
A great show from start to finish.
