Result: Kalisto wins via pinfall with a roll-up

Match Thoughts
Good match. Kanellis was aggressive in this match, and he hit Kalisto with some big moves. One of the biggest moments for Kanellis was when he moved out of the way of a dive and Kalisto landed on the floor up against a barricade. Kalisto looked good too though, and he took advantage of the fact that Kanellis seemed more intent on proving a point than winning the match.

Backstage
Drew Gulak and Jack Gallagher welcomes Humberto Carrillo to 205 Live. They offer to help guide Carrillo to success, and part of their guidance includes not flying around the ring. They both volunteer to be in Carrillo’s corner during his next match.

Backstage
Among smoke and odd lighting, Ariya Daivari says Buddy Murphy got lucky at the Royal Rumble. Tonight, Itami will prove his dominance by taking apart Akira Tozawa. Itami agrees.

Parking Lot
Earlier today, Tony Nese and Noam Dar brawled in the parking lot. Drake Wuertz and Drake Maverick pulled Nese off Dar as Buddy Murphy and some officials (Adam Pearce and Sonjay Dutt) came in to help break up the fight. Gulak and Gallagher enjoy the action.

Backstage
Kayla Braxton reports that Noam Dar has not been seriously injured. However, Tony Nese has been suspended indefinitely. Buddy Murphy walks by, so Braxton asks him if he condones what Nese deed. Murphy says “no” so he won’t get fired. Murphy also says that he will knock down whoever challenges him for his title next.

Match 2
Akira Tozawa w/ The Brian Kendrick vs Hideo Itami w/ Ariya Daivari
(referee: Charles Robinson)

Result: Akira Tozawa wins via pinfall after a diving senton
Time: 14:55

Match Thoughts
Good match. Itami dominated a good part of the first half of the match. That set up Tozawa for a comeback, but Daivari’s repeated distractions made that comeback difficult. Eventually, Tozawa managed to survive long enough to hit some big moves as the match neared its satisfying finish.

Ring Area
After the match, Daivari helps Itami get to his feet. Once he’s up, Daivari puts Itami back down with a lariat. Itami is down in the ring as the show ends.

Show Impressions
Good show. The matches were entertaining, and though I think I wanted a different winner in the opening match, I still enjoyed it. I’m interested to see where the Dar/Nese situation is going.

Match of the Night
Akira Tozawa vs Hideo Itami
A solid match. Tozawa has been slowly rebuilding some of the momentum he lost over a lot of last year, and this was another good step for him. Unfortunately, I knew that Itami was leaving WWE before seeing this episode. That made the finish somewhat anticlimactic, but I still really enjoed the match.
