Show/Hide Match Previews

Match 1
“The Captain” Shawn Dean vs Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana
(referee: Bryce Remsburg)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Colt Cabana wins via pinfall with the Superman
Time: 4:55

Match Thoughts
This was fun. It was a light-hearted match with Cabana kind of playing with Dean the entire time.

Match 2
Mike Reed & Ryan Rembrandt vs Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus w/ Marko Stunt
(referee: Mike Posey)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Luchasaurus pins Mike Reed after an assisted cutter (Luchasaurus lifting Reed for a cutter by Jungle Boy)
Time: 4:37

Match Thoughts
Squash. Jungle Boy got a little resistance from Reed, but otherwise Jurassic Express hod no problems with this match. There seemed to be fewer double-team moves than what we’re used to seeing from Jurassic Express, but this was still a fun match.

Match 3
Lee Johnson & Musa vs Private Party
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Marq Quen pins Lee Johnson after a shooting star press
Time: 5:33

Match Thoughts
Good match. It was kind of a squash, though Johnson and Musa did have some nice back-and-forth with Private Party in the earlier stages of the match. By the end though, Private Party completely beat the crap out of Johnson. It was a very decisive finish.

Match 4
Jon Cruz vs 10
(referee: Mike Posey)

Show/Hide Results

Result: 10 pins Jon Cruz after a spinebuster
Time: 2:33

Match Thoughts
Squash. This was fine.

Match 5
Alan Angels vs Rey Fenix
(referee: Rick Knox)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Rey Fenix wins via pinfall after a modified Kinnikuman Buster
Time: 6:37

Match Thoughts
Good match. Alan Angels gave Rey Fenix a good fight, and that made Fenix look great. Even when Fenix doesn’t do exactly what he wants (like when he almost lost his balance in this match while jumping on the ropes), he still looks great. This was a lot of fun.

Match 6
Dani Jordyn vs Kris Statlander
(referee: Aubrey Edwards)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Kris Statlander wins via pinfall after the Big Bang Theory
Time: 4:31

Match Thoughts
Good match. I’m not sure I like Statlander doing the boop as a counter move to escape holds, but I like seeing her use her power like she did tonight.

Match 7
Jason Cade vs Orange Cassidy w/ Best Friends
(referee: Bryce Remsburg)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Orange Cassidy pins Jason Cade with a hammerlock crucifix pin
Time: 2:41

Match Thoughts
This was fun. Cade actually made Orange angry for a second.

Match 8
Skyler Moore vs Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Britt Baker wins via submission with Lockjaw
Time: 5:11

Match Thoughts
Squash. Baker looked very dominant tonight.

Match 9
No DQ Match
Luther vs Jimmy Havoc w/ Kip Sabian, Penelope Ford
(referee: Paul Turner)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Jimmy Havoc wins via pinfall after the fishhook DDT (and some help from Sabian and Ford)
Time: 8:15

Match Thoughts
Good match. There were a few awkward moments, but I liked the match fine. I’d like to see them have another match that’s more in the death-match style. After hearing so much about both Luther and Havoc’s death match experience, this felt a bit tame and watered down.

Show Impressions
This was a fun, jam-packed show. Sure, all but the main event were various forms of squash matches, but there were a lot of them! Plus, we got to see a lot of people compete tonight that we haven’t seen in the ring in weeks (plus a few we have seen lately).

Match of the Night
Alan Angels vs Rey Fenix
I had the most fun with this one. Fenix is superb, and Angels has been getting into good matches in AEW (like the one he had with Kenny Omega recently).
