Match 1
DEATH Yama-san vs AZM
(referee: Daichi Murayama)

Show/Hide Results

Result: DEATH Yama-san wins via pinfall with Ebigatame
Time: 3:49

Match Thoughts
Good match. Yama-san did her usual “death” shtick, and that’s always fun. AZM is heading into a three-way High Speed Title match at Korakuen Hall in a few days, so she really wanted to build some momentum tonight. AZM did well, but Yama-san is really good at making people think she’s not as good as she really is. Yama-san’s offense tends to come as a surprise in any match, and AZM seemed to be taken a but by surprise by Yama-san tonight.

Match 2
Starlight Kid & Saya Iida w/ Tam Nakano vs Utami Hayashishita & Momo Watanabe
(referee: Duke Sado)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Utami Hayashishita pins Saya Iida with a bridging German suplex
Time: 10:58

Match Thoughts
Good match. Iida and Kis brought a lot of speed, but Watanabe and Hayashishita seemed to be in control of most of this match. Iida and Hayashishita had some nice exchanges late in the match, and those were probably my favorite parts. Overall, this was a pretty dominant performance from Queen’s Quest.

Match 3
Saya Kamitani vs Himeka w/ Giulia, Syuri, Maika
(referee: Duke Sado)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Himeka wins via pinfall after a running powerbomb
Time: 8:22

Match Thoughts
Good match. Kamitani got more offense than I expected. Himeka was susceptible to some of Kamitani’s submission attempts, and Kamitani was able to keep Himeka into trouble when they were both down on the mat. Himeka’s size and strength were too much for Kamitani when they were standing up face-to-face though. Kamitani is still improving, but Himeka already has a really strong presence in the ring. She seems confident, and she just looks like she can beat anyone up.

Match 4
Konami & Jungle Kyona vs Tam Nakano & Mayu Iwatani (World Champ)
(referee: Duke Sado)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Jungle Kyona pins Mayu Iwatani after the Jungle Buster
Time: 20:01

Match Thoughts
Very good match. This was a preview of Jungle Kyona’s upcoming title match against World of Stardom champion Mayu Iwatani, and I think it definitely built up even more intrigue for that match. This fight was back and forth for a while, but Konami and Kyona had really great teamwork and were able o pul ahead as the match went on. Iwatani and Nakano were on the defensive for a good part of the match, and that helped build up Kyona for tomorrow’s title match. But even on its own and without being looked at as a preview, this was still a very fun and entertaining tag match from two strong teams.

Match 5
Artist of Stardom Title Match
Natsu Sumire & Saki Kashima & Natsuko Tora vs Maika & Syuri & Giulia (Artist Champs) w/ Himeka
(referee: Daichi Murayama; title match official: Rossy Ogawa)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Giulia pins Saki Kashima after the Glorious Driver, Donna del Mondo retain the Artist of Stardom Titles in their first defense
Time: 15:54

Match Thoughts
Very good match. The referee tried his best to maintain control, but this one got chaotic right from the start. Oedo Tai, as they often do, attacked their opponents prior to the opening bell. The brawl was fairly short though, and a lot of the match was fought in the center of the ring. There were, of course, other moments of ringside brawling, but as the match felt like it might be closing in on the finish, it ended up being Saki Kashima and Giulia legal in the ring. They fought one on one for an extended time with only a few breakdowns where everyone got involved. This was a nice way to build off of the last time Oedo Tai and Donna del Mondo faced each other in 6-person action, because in that match Kashima pinned Giulia. That last match was clearly on both of their minds, because Giulia looked like she had something to prove, and Kashima went for some similar setups that served her so well last time. I was looking forward to this match, and I was happy with it. I’m looking forward to seeing how both teams react to the result.

Show Impressions
This was a good show. The final two matches of the night felt important, and all of the matches were fun. This wasn’t a huge night for anyone, but I liked it anyway.

Match of the Night
Oedo Tai vs Donna del Mondo (Artist Titles)
I’ve been looking forward to this match, and it delivered for me. I liked that it built off of what led up to it. That gave it a satisfying feeling of a match that’s wrapping up a feud. The feud might not necessarily be over, but this chapter definitely felt like it closed tonight.
