City: Phoenix, AZ
Venue: Talking Stick Resort Arena

Panel: Renee Young, Sam Roberts, Carmella, Booker T
Social Media Lounge: Dasha Fuentes
Commentary: Tom Phillips, JBL, Mauro Ranallo, David Otunga
Ring Announcer: Greg Hamilton

Renee Young introduces the show and the panel.

Roberts is excited to see Naomi. Carmella is distracted by her phone but she appreciates Alexa Bliss’s dirty tactics. Booker T thinks Naomi has something to prove tonight. Booker and Roberts pick Naomi, Carmella doesn’t care but picks Alexa.

History for the Orton/Harper match.

Booker and Roberts disagree about Harper wanting to do his own thing away from the Wyatt Family. Carmella and Booker pick Orton, Roberts picks Harper.

Booker T says American Alpha is at an advantage in Tag Team Turmoil because they don’t know any better. Roberts talks about Twitter and loses his concentration when Carmella (sort of, not really) flirts with him. Carmella interrupts Roberts and asks Renee her prediction. She picks Usos, Booker picks Usos. Roberts picks Ascension. Carmella likes Breezango.

History or the Nikki/Natalya match.

Carmella comments on Nikki and Natalya, saying Nikki is always distracted. Booker T talks, but James Ellsworth interrupts the show. He bought tickets or Carmella and himself to watch the Chamber, so Carmella leaves with him. Afterwards, Roberts and Booker pick Natalya, Renee picks Nikki.

Booker T thinks Dolph Ziggler has no chance tonight, Roberts thinks Ziggler’s new attitude will put him over the top. Booker and Renee pick Kalisto and Apollo, Roberts thinks Ziggler will find a way to win.

Social Media Lounge
Dasha Fuentes asks Becky Lynch some questions from Twitter.

Booker T loses it when JBL falls while making his entrance into the arena. Booker and Roberts then debate Mickie James versus Becky Lynch. Booker picks Becky, Roberts picks Mickie.

Match 1
Curt Hawkins vs Mojo Rawley
(referee: Ryan Tran)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Mojo Rawley wins via pinfall after a spinning powerslam
Time: 6:52 (1 break)

Match Thoughts
Not a bad match. Not great, but it was a fine Kickoff show match. Hawkins tried to avoid Rawley until he baited Rawley into a cheap shot, then Hawkins retained control until Rawley came back at the end with power and energy. Pretty standard stuff.

Renee, Booker, and Roberts talk about the Chamber match. Booker likes Styles. Roberts thinks Cena is scary-good, but he also thinks Miz is on a roll. Booker Picks Styles, Roberts picks Miz.

Buildup for the Chamber match.

Show Impressions
This was an okay Kickoff. I like adding storyline into the panel, but Carmella’s stuff was pretty predictable, to the point where I just wanted her to go ahead and get to it while other people were talking.

Match of the Night
Curt Hawkins vs Mojo Rawley
Again, not bad.
