Result: Humberto Carrillo wins via pinfall with a schoolboy after Gallagher headbutts Andrews
Time: 9:53

Match Thoughts
Very good match. James Drake had the best plan, but his plan also made him a bigger target. Drake immediately left the ring once the match started, and his three opponents let him walk as they fought each other. Eventually though, Drake got triple teamed and the match began to involve all four participants more. There were some great sequences of flying, diving, and striking, and everyone worked together extremely well. I particularly enjoyed the finish. It wasn’t terribly flashy, but it was very smart.

Ring Area
After the match, Humberto Carrillo holds out his hand to Jack Gallagher. After a few seconds, Gallagher quickly shakes Carrillo’s hand and walks away.

Ariya Daivari tans while he talks about Tony Nese. He thinks Nese is dumb for flying to England to compete so close to their title match. Daivari is getting tanned, he has a massage planned, and he’s going to be fully rested for Sunday.

Sarah Schreiber welcomes Tony Nese. She questions whether it’s smart to compete against Ligero tonight. Nese says sometimes the smart thing isn’t the right thing. As champ, it’s his responsibility to represent 205 Live all over the world and compete against the best from other brands.

A look at Ligero.

Match 2
Ligero vs Tony Nese (Cruiserweight Champ)
(referee: Charles Robinson)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Tony Nese wins via pinfall after the Running Nese in the corner
Time: 14:21

Match Thoughts
Great match. This built up nicely from grappling and counters to a series of big moves and big reversals. The intensity picked up progressively as the match neared its end, and by the end it felt like both men had done everything they could to win. This was a great showing from Ligero and a great momentum booster for Nese.

Ring Area
After the match, Tony Nese helps Ligero to his feet. Nese raises Ligero’s hand, then Ligero raises Nese’s hand. Suddenly, Ariya Daivari emerges from the crowd and pulls Ligero out of the ring. Daivari then focuses on Nese, beating up the champ. Daivari hits Nese with a hammerlock lariat before laying the Cruiserweight Title across Nese’s chest.

Show Impressions
This was a very good show. Both matches were highly entertaining, the the special guests from NXT UK made the night feel special.

Match of the Night
Ligero vs Tony Nese
I think Ligero made a good case for an NXT UK title shot with this match.
