Match 1
Mia Yim vs Bianca Belair
(referee: Jessika Carr)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Bianca Belair wins via pinfall by using her hair wrapped around the ropes as leverage
Time: 7:34

Match Thoughts
This was pretty good. With as much anger we saw with the trash talking throughout the match, I’d like to see Yim and Belair have a really hard-hitting match. What we saw tonight was a fine wrestling match, though the pace seemed to be a little slower towards the end than we might expect from these women. The finish was kind of silly, but it worked fine and (probably) continues the feud.

Video
Security camera footage from the performance center shows the Forgotten Sons attacking the War/Viking Raiders.

** So the “Viking Raider” name has officially infected NXT. It seems as if the time in NXT for Erik/Rowe and Hanson/Ivar is almost done. I did like the fake security cam footage though. The footage was too pristine to be an actual security cam, but I like the idea of it. It makes more sense than there always happening to be a guy with a camera hanging around when stuff happens. **

Video
From the performance center, Io Shirai runs in and attacks Shayna Baszler as Baszler watches Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir spar. A brawl erupts with all four women. They are eventually pulled apart by other trainees and trainers.

Match 2
Raul Mendoza vs Riddick Moss
(referee: Jessika Carr)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Raul Mendoza wins via pinfall after a springboard corkscrew splash
Time: 4:40

Match Thoughts
Good match. I really enjoy watching Mendoza, and he was in great form tonight. Moss was returning from injury, and he had a new attitude and a new gimmick (which is a lot like Simon Dean’s old gimmick). With all the focus on Moss, Mendoza surprised people with a near constant barrage of high-flying offense. This was fun.

Last week, KUSHIDA defeated Kassius Ohno in his NXT TV debut match. KUSHIDA will compete again next week.

Match 3
Matt Riddle vs Adam Cole
(referee: Tom Castor)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Matt Riddle wins via submission with the Bromisson
Time: 13:52

Match Thoughts
Great match! Riddle and Cole threw just about everything they had at each other in this match. This was definitely Takeover quality. Roderick Strong did get involved at one point late in the match, but even though the finish did involve some story line elements, it was still a great, competitive, and intriguing match from start to finish.

Ring Area
After the match, Adam Cole is furious at Roderick Strong. Fish and O’Reilly try to reason with them, but Cole and Strong continue to argue. Eventually, Strong and Cole leave from opposite sides of the ring.

Show Impressions
This was a good show. The matches started good and got better as the show moved along.

Match of the Night
Matt Riddle vs Adam Cole
I think this match is going to be difficult to beat for Match of the Month.
