Show/Hide Results

Result: Jack Gallagher wins via pinfall after a headbutt (while Kanellis was arguing with the referee)
Time: 7:05

Match Thoughts
Good match. I really enjoyed the interactions between Kanellis and Gallagher. Kanellis tried to match Gallagher in technical skills early in the match, but Gallagher had some fun and unique ways to escape Kanellis’s holds. As the match went on, things got more serious. Maria interjected herself into the match at one point, and that started Mike on a roll that lasted all the to the final segments of the match. I also really enjoyed the finish. It was slightly controversial, or at least questionable, how the match ended, but I think it adds a neat story layer to an already good match.

Ring Area
After the match, Mike is frustrated as he walks up the ramp with Maria. Mike says “I’m done” and tells Maria to “go tell him.” Mike leaves through the crowd as Maria heads to the backstage area.

Backstage
Tony Nese doesn’t make any excuses for losing the Cruiserweight Title in a triple threat match. Still, he didn’t work hard only to have someone else lose his title. Tonight, Nese will defeat Tozawa and go on to take back the title that Gulak never took from him.

Backstage
Akira Tozawa says opportunity slipped through his hands at Stomping Grounds, but he won’t let that happen again tonight. Tozawa will win tonight and go on to become a two-time Cruiserweight Champ at Extreme Rules.

Backstage
Drake Maverick leaves a voicemail for Mike Kanellis, telling him he’s being completely unprofessional.

Match 2
Humberto Carrillo vs Rob Rollenbeck
(referee: Ryan Tran)

Result: Humberto Carrillo wins via pinfall after a twisting splash
Time: 2:36

Match Thoughts
This was a fun squash.

Backstage
Sarah Schreiber welcomes Ariya Daivari. Daivari says he’s tougher and smarter than Oney Lorcan. As he speaks, Lorcan attacks Daivari from behind with a chair. Lorcan punches Daivari until he’s pulled away by Ryan Tran and Mike Chioda.

Selfie Promo
The Lucha House Party says they are getting a rematch against the Singh brothers. This time, they will battle in a tornado tag match.

Match 3
Cruiserweight Title Number One Contender Match
Tony Nese vs Akira Tozawa
(referee: Danilo Anfibio)

Show/Hide Results

Result: Tony Nese wins via pinfall after a kneeling belly to back piledriver
Time: 14:11

Match Thoughts
Very good match. I would have been happy with either of these guys winning, but i think the man who did win makes the most sense right now. This match had a lot of great sequences and more than a few hard shots. Both men got rocked at different points in the match, and it seemed like towards the end it was all about who was going to get in the last big move.

Show Impressions
This was a good show. It was a bit of a character and story building show, and the wrestling was good.

Match of the Night
Akira Tozawa vs Tony Nese
As always, both of these men delivered a very good match.
