NXT provides another great Takeover with a series of fantastic matches leading up to the chaotic and violent return of War Games!
This week’s episode is essentially a wrap-up of Takeover: Brooklyn III, but Peyton Royce versus Sarah Logan and a UK division tag match make this episode of NXT a must-watch.
The last NXT before Takeover: Brooklyn III gave decent time to the women’s and men’s title matches. Thought nothing major happened, it was a good lead-in for the big show this weekend.
The Street Profits make their NXT TV debut, Andrade Almas looks to get back on track against No Way Jose, and Oney Lorcan gives Danny Burch a rematch in an okay but rather uneventful episode of NXT.
Johnny Gargano returns to in-ring action against Raul Mendoza and Kyle O’Reilly tests Aleister Black in a good episode of NXT.
Kassius Ohno and Hideo Itami battle in an attempt to settle their differences in an episode of NXT that did a lot of setting up but not much paying off.
Ember Moon takes on Ruby Riot and Drew McIntyre faces Killian Dain to decide who will be next to face Bobby Roode for the NXT Title in a good episode of NXT packed with a variety of entertaining matches.
Bobby Fish makes his NXT debut, and Heavy Machinery challenges The Authors of Pain in a pretty good episode of NXT.
Roderick Strong challenges Bobby Roode for the NXT Title in a very good and emotional match!
Asuka puts her title on the line against Nikki Cross in the first-ever Last Woman Standing match on NXT!
Kassius Ohno tries to overcome his recent setbacks by battling the rising Aleister Black and Ember Moon returns to action against Peyton Royce is a good episode of NXT.
Asuka faces Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot in a triple threat elimination rematch for her NXT Women’s Title in the main event of an episode that was otherwise a bit light on interesting matches.
This episode of NXT was rather forgettable, though it did feature No Way Jose’s first match after his return last week and a hard-hitting bout between Hideo Itami and Oney Lorcan.
A few solid matches and a little story development make this an NXT easily worth watching.
This week’s show was basically a recap of Takeover: Chicago, but it did contain the debut of the Velveteen Dream and a decent match between McIntyre and Blake.
NXT bounces back from an average Takeover in April to put on a great show in Chicago!
The final stop before Takeover: Chicago didn’t have much in the way of new developments, but it was an okay show regardless.
Including the results of the fallout from the women’s battle royal last week, matches for all of NXT’s titles at Takeover: Chicago are determined in this episode, including a great number one contender match between Hideo Itami and Roderick Strong.
Asuka makes a decision during a number one contender battle roayl that will affect her next title defense in a pretty good episode of NXT.
